Final Destination is a popular franchise in the horror genre and includes several films that have done well both critically and commercially. Its sixth installment, Final Destination: Bloodlines, is scheduled to be released on May 16, 2025.
Devon Sawa, the actor who played the lead in the first film, has recently revealed that he is not a part of Final Destination: Bloodlines amid some speculations and rumors. He played the role of Alex Browning who was the main protagonist in the 2000 film. Sawa's comments might disappoint the fans of the original film who were expecting him to make a comeback in the franchise.
Devon Sawa is not in Bloodlines
Devon Sawa recently gave an interview to Forbes to promote his film Heart Eyes. During the conversation, he spoke and confirmed that he is not a part of the cast of Final Destination Bloodlines. But the Canadian actor that he is rooting for Teo Briones who is a part of the film.
"I’m not in it. Every movie has been a cast of new kids. Teo Briones, who played my son in the first season of Chucky, is in it, and so I’m rooting for him. I’ve seen every Final Destination movie in the theater. I can’t wait to see what the new cast does with it. Maybe one day in the future; who knows? I’m not in this one. I hear it’s really good, though."
While it might disappoint fans, this has always been the way for the Final Destination franchise. Amid makers bringing back OG actors in the franchise, Final Destination has a set of new characters waiting to be killed.

The film is helmed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky. The story is by Guy Busick, Jon Watts, and Lori Evans Taylor while Busick and Taylor have also written the screenplay.
The official synopsis of the film reads,
Plagued by a recurring violent nightmare, a college student returns home to find the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from the horrific fate that inevitably awaits them.
The film stars Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, and Richard Harmon among others. The late Tony Todd (who plays the role of William Bludworth) is also returning in the film. He is the only actor who has appeared more than once in the franchise. It will be released on May 16, 2025, by Warner Bros Pictures.
