Spencer Pratt defended Mandy Moore in a TikTok video after the actress was criticized for promoting a GoFundMe to support her family affected by the L.A. wildfires.
Singer-songwriter and actress Mandy Moore, who lost part of her home to the wildfires, started a GoFundMe for her family and received criticism for promoting it.
She revealed that her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Griff and Kat Goldsmith, lost everything they owned just before they welcomed their first child. According to sources, they were supposed to have a baby shower.
She was criticized for sharing the family's troubles and the link to the page for the GoFundMe for her in-laws. The critics stated that she was a millionaire and questioned her audacity to ask for all this.
In response to the hate she had been receiving, Moore responded to the critics saying:
"We just lost most of our life in a fire too.
"Kindly F OFF. No one is forcing you to do anything."
Spencer Pratt came to her rescue by uploading a video on TikTok where he defended Mandy Moore. In the video, Pratt went on to say:
"Y'all, I don't know all the information but let me tell you about Mandy Moore. Mandy Moore, when I was younger, shout-out Mandy Moore. She booked my hotel for me because she was such a nice friend."
Sharing an anecdote from the days when he just started out. He mentioned that she was nice to him all the way back in 2004, and he mentioned that since she was good back then, she still is now. He emphasized that she is nice nice. Pratt continued by saying:
"Just as a friend, she booked my hotel in New York - I had never been to New York. I feel like she even booked my flight because I was so much fun to be around. Mandy Moore, I will ride for Mandy Moore."
He threatened the users on the internet who directed any sort of hate towards her, stating that he would 'come' for them:
"If I see one more TikTok about Mandy Moore and GoFundMe's, I’m going to start coming after you guys. You want beef with your worst nightmare, which is me right now, you post about Mandy Moore. I will ride for Mandy Moore."
He ended the video by saying:
"She doesn't have to pay for whoever. She's got her own life, her own kids, so don't you come for Mandy Moore, unless you want a real problem."
Spencer Pratt again reminded the whole world that Mandy Moore was a nice person and still is and that she wasn't obligated to fund her family's rebuilding.
Moore thanked everyone for their support, and she promised to help with the reconstruction of her neighborhood. She wrote on her Instagram on January 10, 2025:
“Feeling weird survivors guilt. We love this community and will do everything we can to help rebuild and support. Thanks for everyone for checking on us and offering us help. Altadena strong.”
Spencer Pratt to consider legal action
Spencer Pratt, like the majority of L.A., plans to sue the State of California for claimed negligence after losing his Pacific Palisades property in the flames in Los Angeles. The actor claims that the disaster, which has destroyed homes and left thousands homeless, was caused by poor resource allocation and wildfire control.
He and his wife, Heidi Montag, plan to hold authorities responsible by pursuing legal action. The duo also wants better disaster management in the state for future disasters.
