The Simpsons, notorious for predicting some of the wildest instances, caught the internet's attention when a clip from season 11, episode 17 of the show emerged. In it, a show's character, Lisa, who shares likeness with Kamala Harris can be seen sitting in office, acknowledging that Trump was her predecessor.
Harris was defeated this week by Trump in the presidential election, and The Simpsons' clip has already begun paving the way for conspiracies and speculations. Many are now under the impression that Kamala Harris will run for election once again in 2028, and that she will win.
However, others have brushed off such claims, noting that all the past instances were nothing more than just spooky coincidences. Check out how one user reacted:
"i love the optimism guys."
Regardless, the internet was visibly divided:
"What did I say? The Simpson’s are never wrong. The people from the future knew this election’s outcome and now that we know the U.S. is still going to exist, is such a relief," one user stated.
"I’m assuming this is the prophecy for after he is in office. Kamala is being left to clean up his mess, once again," another speculated.
"THERE'S HOPE MOTHER HARRIS THAT OVAL IS YOURS!!!" somebody else declared.
"We just need to make it through these next four years and THEN we’ll get our first female president. I understand it now, it was in the prophecies all along," one user posited.
The reactions didn't stop there, as many began chiming in with their own theories:
"Someone said that in the Simpsons Trump was president in 2024 and this woman came after him. Or even somewhere in 2030 ish. Maybe there will be a woman after Trump, or after that?" someone probed.
"this is genuinely scary how does this damn show always know everything omg," another pointed out.
"We just gotta make it to 2028," one user stated.
"y’all never noticed? i was thinking about this when people said this meant kamala would win," another user tweeted.
The rest of the users were expressing hope that the nation would one day have a female president.
The Simpsons fuels wild speculations and conspiracy theories
In the clip, which emerged from the 2000 episode Bart to the Future, Lisa Simpsons can be seen wearing a purple suit and a pearl necklace. Her hair is cut short, and her ears are adorned with matching pearl necklaces. She says:
"As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump."
Notably, what caught fans' eyes is that Kamala Harris was spotted wearing an eerily similar outfit: A purple pantsuit, a pearl necklace, and some pearl earrings. Also given her matching short hair, fans became convinced the so-called "prediction" was a prognostication of the 2024 presidential elections.
Furthermore, The Simpsons also managed to predict that Trump would run for president in 2024 in the very same episode, as producer Al Jean pointed out on X:
In the meantime, the nation has no choice but to wait and watch what happens in the next presidential election, scheduled in 2028.
