Rod Stewart, in a post on Instagram on November 20, announced the end of his "large-scale' world tours. However, the 79-year-old singer has no plans of retiring. In the post, he mentioned,

"This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire. I love what I do and I do what I love. I'm fit, have a full head of hair, and can run 100 meters in 18 seconds at the jolly old age of 79."

While announcing his plans for the future, he said,

"I'd like to move onto a Great American Songbook, Swing Fever tour the yeat after the next - smaller venues and more intimacy. But then again, I may not..."

The British singer recently announced his farewell One Last Time Tour scheduled for dates in North America from February 2025 to August 2025. The tour includes shows at Atlantic City's Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on February 22, and Saratoga Springs' Saratoga Performing Arts Center on July 15. The setlist includes hits like Maggie May, Forever Young, Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?, The First Cut is the Deepest, Young Turks, and Ooh La La.

"This will be the last time 'round" - says Rod Stewart about his large-scale tours

This isn't the first time Rod Stewart has expressed his desire to stop large-scale tours. Earlier in 2023, while speaking to PEOPLE, Rod mentioned,

"This will be the last time 'round, I think, to do the rock 'n' roll stuff because I want to move on to swing music and the Great American Song Book. But I'm not taking my songs to the cemetary and burrying them."

The singer said he might bring out his songs on the "odd occasion" but wants to "put them to rest for a little while." He also added,

"No more big tours. I've said farewell to Australia and New Zealand and Mexico, so it's time to say farewell to the U.S. now."

His announcement comes after he was forced to cancel his milestone 200th Vegas Residency Show in August after suffering from strep throat.

During another interview with The Sun in July, Rod Stewart gave a glimpse into how he wants the future to look. He mentioned that he's aware his days are "numbered" but has "no fear." The singer mentioned that he's going to be "enjoying" himself as much as he can for the next "last" few years.
