During a February 24 episode of Miss Me? podcast co-hosted by Miquita Oliver, Lily Allen opened up about some of her own "red flags" from her past relationship. The singer recalled her very first relationship with a boyfriend named Lester, and mentioned that she struggled with being emotionally dependent on him.
"As soon as I got my first boyfriend, Lester, (there was a) complete transference of intimacy. Not only did I not want to touch or be cuddled or be kissed by anyone in my family, I couldn't engage in it with them either. It was like, this person is where I've put that now."
She addressed that her behavior was "red flag," saying,
"It's incredibly like, red flag, codependent behavior that I just put all of my emotional dependency on one person."
Lily Allen's account of her past relationships comes after reportedly splitting from her husband, David Harbour, on February 3 after four years of marriage. Allen had since checked into a treatment center to combat "emotional turmoil," where she signed up for group therapy and individual therapy.
"I went into a sort of treatment center for weeks" - says Lily Allen
During a February 13 episode of Miss Me? podcast, Lily Allen addressed her mental health after her separation from her husband of four years, David Harbour. Allen revealed that she checked into a treatment center to work on her emotional well-being,
"I just feel very grateful to have been given the time and the space that I needed. I went into a sort of treatment center for a few weeks, which was great. I did a lot of group therapy and some individual therapy and I just, I needed some time and space away from everything."
Harbour and Lily Allen met on the celebrity dating app Raya. An insider, while speaking to People Magazine, mentioned that their marriage had been "crumbling." During a December 16 episode of her podcast Miss Me?, Allen noted that she had been going through a tough time, which affected her mental health and caused problems with eating.
"I've been going through a tough time over the last few months and my eating has become a real issue."
The couple tied the knot in Las Vegas in 2020 in a ceremony officiated by an Elvis Presley impersonator. Before dating Harbour, she was married to Sam Cooper from 2011-2018 whom she shares two daughters with, Marnie Rose, 12, and Ethel Mary, 13.
