Jake E Lee, renowned for his work with Ozzy Osbourne, was hospitalized in the early hours of Tuesday, October 15, after "multiple" gunshot wounds in Las Vegas, Nevada, CNN reported.

The rock guitarist is "fully conscious and doing well" in the ICU, and is "expected to fully recover." In learning of the news, Osbourne offered his best wishes for a speedy recovery, Blast reported.

"It's been 37 years since I've seen Jake E Lee, but that still doesn't take away from the shock of hearing what happened to him today. I just hope he'll be ok."

Lee and Osbourne played side by side from 1982 to 1985, with the former serving as the lead guitarist. The two were featured on albums like Bark at the Moon and The Ultimate Sin.

However, he was eventually replaced by Zakk Wylde. Not long after, Lee went on to form his own band, Badlands, in 1988, alongside Black Sabbath members Ray Gillen and Eric Singer.

Jake E Lee is "doing well" in an ICU, got shot at random while walking his dog

The 67-year-old was shot at random, authorities believe. The incident took place at around 2:45 a.m. local time, People Magazine reported, and at the time, Lee was out walking his dog. Investigations are underway, and no arrests have been made as of yet. In a statement to Fox News Digital, a representative for Jake E Lee said,

"As confirmed by management, legendary rock guitarist Jake E Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands, Red Dragon Cartel) was shot multiple times early this morning in a Las Vegas, NV street shooting."

The statement continued noting that the musician is expected to make a complete recovery.

"Lee is fully conscious and doing well in an intensive care unit at a Las Vegas hospital. He is expected to fully recover. Las Vegas authorities believe the shooting was completely random and occurred while Lee took his dog out for a walk in the early morning hours. As the incident is under police investigation, no further comments will be forthcoming. Lee and his family appreciate respecting their privacy at this time."

An official from the LVPD confirmed the same to the outlet, disclosing that the incident took place on Alora Street.

"On October 15, 2024, at approximately 2:42 a.m., LVMPD officers responded to a shooting incident in the 11000 block of Alora Street. Officers arrived and located a male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The male was transported to the hospital. No arrests have been made at this time. This is an ongoing investigation."

Jake E Lee says Ozzy Osbourne's wife wanted the two to have a reunion

Back in 2010, Jake E Lee revealed that Ozzy's wife, Sharon, tried to get in touch with him, per an article from the Loudwire that came out in January 2024.

He revealed that the group was not so happy with Zakk Wylde, and wanted him back. He said,

"Well, I’d gotten a call from Sharon, and being Sharon, she actually managed to find me. She tracked my phone number because I swear there were maybe a handful of people that had my phone number. Somehow she called me at home, and she told me that Ozzy was having problems with Zakk, and they were looking to replace him and if I’d be interested in doing some festivals and quite possibly the next record."

He revealed that he was "interested," noting that he hadn't "done anything like that in a long time." He further disclosed,

"I can’t let sleeping dogs lie. I said if we’re going to go forward, I want to fix the one problem I’ve had since the very beginning. I said I would like my name on the songwriting credits for Bark At The Moon.”

Jake E Lee contended that he was not given the credit he was due for allegedly having written "everything except for So Tired," pointing out that he "always hated that song because I didn't write it." He asserted that he only wanted recognition, and was not after any money.

"I don’t want any retroactive payment. I don’t want any future payment. I don’t want to make a penny off of it. I just… it would just be nice to have my name on this stuff that I wrote. And I said if we can get past that, I’ll sign an agreement where I don’t ever make a penny on any of it. I just want my name on it."

Jake E Lee also revealed he told her if they "can get past that," then they "can talk further about whether or not [he] can do this or not."

However, he claims that as upon disclosing his terms and conditions, Sharon said she'd call him back the next day, "and she didn’t. So I took that as a no.”
