During an appearance as a guest co-host on Today with Jenna & Friends with Jenna Bush Hager, Tyra Banks revealed the reason behind moving to Australia with her family last year.

Banks was born in California but has been living in Australia for the last 18 months with her nine-year-old son and partner, Louis Belanger-Martin.

"So I have this ice cream company, SmiZE and Dream. I have been going to Australia a lot because we were making a lot of our ice cream there in this big facility, doing our recipes, and I just fell in love with it."

The supermodel opened her boutique ice cream brand in 2020 and sold her first package in California. The brand takes inspiration from her childhood memories of a Friday night tradition of having ice cream with her mother. Banks revealed a fun fact and mentioned that Australia ranks among the top three countries that eat the most ice cream, which prompted the move,

"So I was like, 'I'm happy here, and they love to eat some ice cream, so are we gonna do this, family?' And we did it!"

How does a morning in life look for Tyra Banks in Australia?

During the segment, Tyra Banks showcased a "morning in her life" video from Sydney for her viewers, detailing her morning routine. In the video, Banks mentions that she starts her day at 6:30 am before making coffee in her house, which overlooks the Sydney Harbour.

Tyra Banks pans the camera to Tumbalong Park, one of her "favorite places." While explaining why she likes the particular park, Banks noted,

"People come from all over Sydney to enjoy this park. They have what we call a little mini water park. There's swings and stuff for kids. There's this new place that they've built for the bigger kids that you really can't get your own kid away from. So be careful when you come here."

Banks then showed her fans the Darling Harbour and also talked about the vision behind her ice cream brand while mentioning that the idea is a tribute to her "mama Carolyn."

Banks also mentioned that her ice cream brand is thriving, and she is currently working on opening a "3,000 square foot flagship store" and that "Australia has been a dream come true for me and my family."

On her website for SMiZE & DREAM, Tyra Banks mentions that she dedicates the brand to "mamas and mama figures everywhere."
