“I just don’t get it” - Trisha Paytas slams viral unborn child is Pope Francis reincarnation rumors

YouTuber and internet personality Trisha Paytas finds herself yet again at the center of strange online speculation. This time, it is related to her unborn child, who people claim to the reincarnation of Pope Francis.

On her podcast, Just Trish, on April 22, Paytas, 36, opened up about the viral theory spread across social media. The speculation started shortly after the Vatican announced Pope Francis' death at age 88 because of a cerebral stroke and a subsequent cardiac failure.

This happened to coincide with Paytas’s ongoing pregnancy, which led to people connecting the two in a reincarnation theory. She said,

"I just don’t get it. First of all, I’m months away from my due date, not even close this time, He’s not in the British monarch[y]. Is it just any influential person that dies gets to come reincarnated as my baby?"

Paytas has previously been caught up in similar speculation, once when her daughter Malibu Barbie was born in 2022, around the same time Queen Elizabeth [II] died.

Podcast co-host Oscar Gracey tried to break down the theory, stating it’s typically based on the notion that “a historic person of power” dies while someone is pregnant, to which Paytas replied by asking.

Trisha Paytas and Moses Hacmon first met in March 2020 when she was a guest on the H3 Podcast, hosted by Ethan Klein, who is married to Hacmon’s sister, Hila.

According to People, the pair became closer as they isolated together during the pandemic. Paytas, meanwhile, has posted several touching family moments on social media with Hacmon and their children Malibu and Elvis.

Talking in the podcast, Trisha Paytas brushed off the speculations with a laugh, but said that Francis’ age at death, 88, is her favorite number. She even joked about baby names, quipping:

"If it’s a boy, I guess so. I guess we’re naming it … Pope is not a bad name... My dad’s name is Francis, so. I’ll take the Pope, I guess. I guess that’s better than Charles."

But Trisha Paytas was quick to note that the timing of her pregnancy doesn’t add up with the theory. She is supposedly due in July 2025, and said the widely reported reincarnation window of 49 days after death does not fit.
