After spending a little bit of time away from the limelight, Travis Scott made a resounding comeback with the release of ‘4x4’ and the accompanying visual. In an interview with Billboard, La Flame opened up about his recent success, collaborations with household names like Nike and McDonald’s, and his future plans regarding his craft.

The most compelling tidbit from the interview came when the 33-year-old rapper spoke on the topic of dream album features for his upcoming project.

"This might be crazy, but I would love to get Taylor Swift or Sabrina Carpenter on a hook. Because I have some ill ideas."

Travis Scott vs Sabrina?

Last year, fans began to pit Travis and Sabrina against one another over social media. Their albums, Days Before Rodeo and Short n’ Sweet, were in a tight race for the number one spot on the Billboard album chart, and the pair became entangled in a competition for the accolade. Travis quickly dismissed the notion in the sit down with the publication.

“Charts, shmarts, man. Who measures that? Her album’s cool. Days Before Rodeo is 10 years old. It all works,” he said.

When speaking about his upcoming album, Travis first reflected on his journey with his previous release, Utopia.

"I feel like for Utopia, I was striving to push things to a high level. I’m still reaching for that."

He continued with some positive signs for fans, seemingly asserting that his creativity had been rejuvenated as a result of getting back to work.

“I’ve been having so much fun with music and s–t that I think it’s cool to be artistic and have fun with it. I’ve been producing more, making a lot of the album, and going in on that level is making it more exciting. I can’t wait, actually.”

He also mentioned Khruangbin as a potential stand-out team-up on the horizon.

Travis vs The Grammys

To cap off his discussion with Billboard, Travis gave his thoughts on his perceived snubs from the Grammys and his definition of success in a framework where the awards no longer carry the same significance or weight.

“I think it’s the ability to wake up and still go hard at this. Still have the drive to go hard and not give up on what you set out to do from the beginning. That’s greatness for me. Achieving that level no matter how many times you could be shunned from a Grammy or whatever the f–k could happen. It’s waking up every day to be like, ‘There’s still somebody out there listening and somebody that cares.’ Let’s go hard for that and yourself. I really care about that — it keeps me going”
