The Beverly Hills, 90210 fame actress Tori Spelling is generating concern over her recent confession. The Dancing with the Stars Season 33 contestant recently revealed that she has an aversion to water and drinks coconut water and sodas instead of water.
Spelling divulged that she has a recurring fear of her drinks being poisoned. The actress who played Donna Martin in the hit 90s show shared that her fear makes her distrust those who offer her any drinks, including close family members.
Spelling made these revelations in the March 11 episode of her podcast, misSpelling. Discussing her issue with water, Spelling said,
“I hate water. I have an allergy to water.”
The Scary Movie 2 actress explained how she sustains herself without water, saying,
“I'm like a cacti, like you just water me once in a while, and I somehow survive, but I have an aversion to it.”

Diving into the effect that water has on her body, Spelling revealed the nature of her aversion to the liquid. She said,
“I can guzzle, like, a glass of wine in, like, two seconds. No problem. I take a few sips of water and swallow gently. And all of a sudden I'm like, I want to puke. Like, I just don't know what it is.”
Revealing that her revulsion from water is related to her fear of being poisoned, Spelling narrated an incident with her then-husband, Garlic and Gunpowder's Dean McDermott, whom she feared was trying to poison her. McDermott took too long to bring her ginger ale in a cup once, and she assumed that he could have poisoned her. She narrated confronting McDermott about it, who said,
“You’re the mother of my children. Why would I want to poison you?”
Continuing, Spelling explained,
“And I was like, ‘listen, it's not personal. I think this about everybody.”
Linking this incident to one from her childhood, Tori Spelling speculated that her fear stemmed from an early age. Sharing that she used to be paranoid when her mother gave her medicine as a kid, Spelling said,
“And I would say, ‘what did you put in here? Like, what are you giving me?’ And she would say the same thing, ‘what do you think I'm trying to poison you?’”
Spelling added,
“So this goes back to childhood…This like a rational fear of handed over liquids from other people, but it ties into my like fear of water because I don't drink water. I don't call it a fear of water. I just call it, I like to say, ah, you know, I hate water.”

Tori Spelling’s health concerns
In the wake of Tori Spelling’s confession that she has a major aversion to water, it is fair to wonder whether the actress, who is a mother of 5, suffers from any health concerns. In a previous episode of her podcast in April 2024, Spelling had revealed that she was hospitalized. Spelling had said,
“Okay, you guys, so I had a little incident the other day, and I have six stitches.”
Linking the incident to her aversion to water, Spelling said,
“I fainted the other night, and this is the second time in months that I fainted. And the first time I fainted was in August, and I had been working all day, I'd been filming for a new TV show, and I got home, I most likely was dehydrated because I hate water, and don't drink water, it's a problem.”
Expanding on the cactus analogy at the time, Spelling had said,
“I'm like something you never have to hydrate, but yet it still lives. Barely. Considering that, I don't know, I'm not thirsty.”
Despite her unwillingness to consume water, Spelling has been a brand ambassador for SodaStream, a product that makes sparkling water. In 2019, SodaStream advertised itself as a sustainable solution for the menace of single-use plastics, according to Business Wire.
Tori Spelling’s recent detailed discussion about her disinclination towards water might just shed some light on the issue for the benefit of those who suffer the same condition.
