Whoopi Goldberg denied podcast presenter Joe Rogan’s recent claims that she warmly welcomed Donald Trump on her show, The View.
During one of the podcast episodes, The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan shared his views on how Donald Trump was warmly welcomed on The View.
Goldberg has strongly denied the claims made by Rogan on his show. During her recent episode, she stated she presented herself calmly towards Trump, as Barbara Walters requested. She also expressed her hatred towards Trump in her episode.
What were the claims, and how did Goldberg clarify them?
Slamming back at Joe Rogan, Whoopi Goldberg debunked his claims in a recent episode.
“There’s a lot of fake news coming up so we’re going to clear up some of it as it happens,” Goldberg said while referring to a clip from Rogan’s podcast.
Rogan also claimed that Donald Trump’s appearance on The View was falsely timed. He said that the incident occurred around 2015 or 2016, whereas according to Goldberg, it was in 2011.
Making the first correction, Goldberg said:
“It was 2011, four years before he announced he was running. That’s the first thing they got wrong.”
Rogan also claimed that Trump was introduced as “Our friend Donald Trump,” and Goldberg gave him a big hug and kiss, as did everyone else on the show. “They all loved you,” he added.
In her second correction, Goldberg said:
“So, Barbara was her usual polite self as she was with every guest. But did I look warm and fuzzy?”
And the camera pans to her face and shows a close-up of Goldberg’s face as she stares skeptically.
“Was that a warm and fuzzy welcome for him? But because I respect Barbara, she said be polite to guests no matter what. And for the most part I got through it, I did it, like I do now,” she clarified.
Goldberg then cleared up another statement on Rogan’s podcast, in which he said the hosts of the former’s show talked about him “in a favorable light.”
She showed the actual clip from her show where she blatantly reacts to Trump’s new focus on Barack Obama’s birth certificate.
“I think that’s the biggest pile of dog mess I’ve heard in ages. It’s not because he’s Black? Because I’ve never heard of any white president being asked to show a birth certificate?” an angry Goldberg speaks during Trump’s 2011 visit.
Goldberg speaks on hatred for Trump
Opening up on her deep-found hatred for US Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, Goldberg reflected that she is not a fan of him and dislikes the way he talks to people and the nation. Speaking about the 2011 incident, she said that her face spoke everything about her feelings for Trump.
“I have not been a fan of this man’s, I don’t like how he talks to us, I don’t like how he talks to the nation. I [did] not really have much to say until he started running for president. [But] then [in 2011]…my face said everything I needed to say.”
The episode ends with Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts discussing their views on Trump. The View airs every weekday at 11 am on ABC.
