Actress Lauren London has recently opened up about dealing with grief after losing her partner Nipsey Hussle in 2019. On September 10, 2024, she appeared on an episode of "A Really Good Cry with Radhi Devlukia" where she discussed her experiences with grief and resilience.

Lauren mentioned that her children, along with a few supportive and insightful individuals in her life, played a major role in helping her cope with grief. She also appreciated the support from strangers, in the form of prayers, which gave her strength during difficult times.

When Radhi asked how she processed the hardest moment of being who she was then, she replied that she felt like a mess. Lauren London continued:

“I feel like I'm really heavy a lot, but again, I have to counter that to just, like, the grace of God coz if it was up to me I would be sliding in here on my stomach you know but I also don't want to take away from the work that I have done from then until now."

During the conversation, when Lauren was asked about her relationship with Nipsey, she described it as intentional, pure, and safe, reflecting on the lessons she gained from him. Lauren explained that much of what he said to her became clearer after he passed away. He often encouraged her to share her voice with others, believing she had important truths to offer, and that’s why she felt truly seen by him.

Lauren London shared a heartwarming post on Nipsey Hussle’s death anniversary

On March 31, 2024, Lauren shared a photo of Nipsey on her Instagram page writing a heartfelt post on his death anniversary. He was tragically shot and killed outside his Los Angeles store, The Marathon Clothing, on March 31, 2019.

In February 2023, Eric Holder Jr. was sentenced to prison for 60 years on account of Nipsey's murder. This sentencing happened less than a year after he was convicted of first-degree murder and attempted voluntary manslaughter.

“If you know me You know March is always tough for me. 31 days of holding my breath. This day decided to fall on Easter Sunday this 2024 Interesting…. considering your name #GodWillRise"

In the podcast with Radhi, London discussed how she had been guiding her sons through the process of coping with Nipsey’s loss. Since her elder son is 14 and the younger one is 7, she addresses their emotions individually, acting as a supportive presence. Lauren London said she encouraged them to express their emotions freely, assuring them that it was okay to experience a range of feelings.

At times, she would play Nipsey’s music and advise them to journal, suggesting they write letters to him to express how they feel. While recalling their first interaction, Lauren said Nipsey gave her his number, and she decided to text him because she preferred not to communicate through DMs. She thought he was good-looking, and mutual friends had even suggested years earlier that they would be a good match.
