"I couldn't be more excited” - Hailee Steinfeld opens up about engagement to Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen

Hailee Steinfeld, while talking to People Magazine in an exclusive, shared her excitement regarding her engagement with NFL player Josh Allen. The couple who got engaged in November 2024 was very low-key about their engagement and rarely talked or posted about the same. The Pitch Perfect actress shared with People magazine that,

"I couldn't be more excited...I'm so happy — we're so happy — and we're just soaking in every moment."

The actress was talking to People "for Nexxus' new "Get Hy" campaign" when she shared about her engagement life. Hailee and Allen got engaged on November 29, after about two years of dating. Though Hailee has talked about her engagement before, both Hailee and Allen, who are very low-key with their relationship, rarely talk about their engagement on public platforms.

Previously in an interview with Who What Wear, the 28-year-old actress also talked about how the proposal was unexpected and how happy it is that Allen "sneakily" ensured she was 'slightly dressed up' for the surprise proposal.

"I'm so grateful that he did it the way he did so that I looked good, and we have these photos that we'll have and cherish for the rest of our lives that I'm not looking at being like, 'What was I wearing?'...We were in Malibu, which is my happy place, and it was magical. That's the word."

The couple announced their engagement via an Instagram post that features Josh Allen proposing to Hailee Steinfeld in front of a water body surrounded by candles and flowers as well as a multi-colored rose arch.

Hailee Steinfeld is reportedly returning to the big screen after almost six years with Sinners, her last silver screen appearance was reportedly with the Charlie Angels' reprisal in 2019. In the last six years, though she had not appeared on the big screen, she was still active with works in series like The Arcane, Dickinson, and even a cameo appearance in the Hawkeye series.

She will be returning to the big screen with Sinners, a supernatural horror film by Ryan Coogler, on April 18. She reportedly stars alongside Michael B. Jordan, Jack O’Connell, etc. Hailee, in an interview with Flaunt, talked about her role in Sinners as something that she has been waiting for.

Recently, she shared with People Magazine that she doesn't think there is a "better project to come back to the big screen with" than sinners. She further states that,

"Also, this was my first film back from the strike. And we were all so hungry to get back to work. I just love being in this creative world with so many people that are just so passionate and so creative, and willing to do whatever it takes to create the most beautiful final product."
