Frank Sinatra's daughter Tina Sinatra, 76, approves of Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's AI-generated ad featuring Frank.
In the 90-second ad for Dr. Dre and Snoop Dog's G.I.N., Snoop and Dre are seen making the rounds at a Prohibition-styled club decorated with chandeliers, jazz bands, and snug-fitting bowties. Sinatra and Sammy Davis. Jr. then spot the rappers from across the room, and Frank asks, "Now, who the hell are those guys," with Davis responding, "I heard those are the new gangsters in town.
Sinatra then asks their bartenders to introduce them to Dre and Snoop, and the four have a round of G.I.N brand's gin.
In an exclusive quote to PEOPLE magazine, Tina Sinatra said seeing an artificial intelligence model of her dad engage with the two rappers in the commercial was both "thrilling and surreal."
"To see Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg alongside my dad and Sammy Davis Jr. in such a revolutionary way is both thrilling and surreal. It's a celebration of timeless artistry, breaking barriers and the enduring legacy of collaboration across generations."
The ad was released on December 10. To create the visuals of late singers Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr., the team recruited help from a generative AI company - Metaphysic.
More about Tina Sinatra's relationship with her father Frank Sinatra
Tina Sinatra has often spoken publicly about her father, Frank Sinatra, who passed away in May 1998. While speaking to the Mirror UK in October 2023, Tina opened up about the days leading up to her father's death. She said that her father suffered from "terrible guilt," mentioning,
"Dad suffered terrible guilt. I had a talk with him near his end, and he told me he was sorry. I said, 'Dadi, it's a long time ago. Leaving mum was a long time ago' and he just said, 'I think I hurt you most because you were so young.' He knew it hurt that I never knew what it was like to have breakfast with my dad."
Tina was just seven months old when Frank left her mother and their family home. He was known to be a "physically distant" father. Tina had also been working for 10 years on creating a "musical stagebook play" featuring Frank's hits. While speaking to Tatler in September 2023, Tina mentioned that it was a way for her to "continue to bring his music forth." She added that her dad never wrote a biography and "felt his music was his biography."
