In the wake of Michelle Trachtenberg's demise at the age of 39 this Wednesday morning, fans are flooding social media with tributes as they remember her role in the iconic Disney movie, Ice Princess.
The film was one of Trachtenberg's most memorable, alongside her breakout roles in Harriet the Spy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Gossip Girl. At the time, Trachtenberg worked on the 2005 film alongside Kim Cattrall, who played her coach, Hayden Panettiere, and Joan Cusack.
Production of the film began in the spring of 2004, and it was released in March of the following year. Trachtenberg, who was born in 1985, was 19 years old at the time, though she played the role of a 17-year-old science whiz, Casey Carlyle, in the movie. Her character was on a mission to amalgamate her knowledge of physics and her love of ice skating to nab a scholarship to Harvard.

The sentiments were echoed all over on X:
