“2025 is going to be a special one for us.”

The caption was followed by a babyface emoji. What caught the viewer’s attention in the Instagram post is that former footballer’s father Mark Wright Sr., commented saying he was excited to meet his fourth grandchild.

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan tied the knot in 2015 but first met in 2012. According to the Independent, the two first met in the dressing room of the TV music competition The X Factor. After that, they happened upon each other on multiple occasions.

Before meeting each other, Mark was in a relationship with Lauren Goodger, while Michelle was already engaged to Max George. “It’s like, as soon as you get married, ‘When are you having a child?’ My husband never gets asked that question.”

Michelle Keegan highlighted the disparity between how she was questioned about these issues compared to Mark Wright, who was rarely asked directly about his desire for children. This difference, she noted, reflected a gender divide that she found particularly frustrating.

According to a source, her ability to keep him intrigued and on edge has continued over the years, which Mark deeply admired. They added that Mark was captivated by her when they first met, seeing her as unattainable. The TV star said:

“In the past I have lived like a lot of young boys – meeting a lot of people and having a fun time, but the moment I met Michelle I was a completely different man.”
