Colin Farrell won the prestigious Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Award on Sunday in the category of Outstanding Male Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie, for his title role portrayal in the series, The Penguin. The 48-year-old Irish actor was earlier nominated at the awards ceremony in the category of Male Actor in a Leading Role for his 2022 release, The Banshees of Inisherin.
For the first time, Colin Farrell publicly thanked his sister Claudine Farrell during his acceptance speech. The actor also sweetly conveyed thanks to his two sons.

"Catherine was the real lover of film and I became a lover of film by proxy.”
Colin Farrell started working and earning money at a young age. Recalling his teenage days, he recalled an incident when his elder brother saw him waiting tables. Seeing his younger brother unfocused and struggling in life, Eamonn signed him up for the Gaiety School of Acting. Walking down the memory lane, Colin described this experience, saying:
"It was a very gentle intervention and it was a big moment for me."

Dismissing the widely-believed notion that Claudine works as his personal assistant, the actor clarified that his sister was a producer by profession:
"She's not my assistant, she's family, she's a producer."
