Willie Geist, the Today Show host and recently dubbed "TV boyfriend", is known for his charm and his wits, but his favorite role to play is that of a loving father to his two kids he and his Christina Geisst, share.

Willie Geist and Christina Geist, his wife of more than two decades, are happy parents to two children: George William Geist, who was born in July 2009, and Lucie Joy Geist, born in June 2007.

Willie Geist and Christina Geist met in middle school and got married in 2003.

Lucie Joy Geist

Willie and Christina's firstborn child is named Lucie. She is currently a junior in high school.She has a passion for writing and journalism. Lucie contributes to her school's digital newsletter, showing interest in the same field as her father.

She's also an athlete and a performer. She always had a strong interest in dance and basketball. On Halloween, she even dressed up as LeBron James. He said in November 2022, in an episode of Today, when Willie was teaching her to drive.

“She’s 15 and we went driving for the first time, and I remember looking at her, she’s got the seatbelt on, and all of a sudden she’s in that seat and I’m in this seat. And about five minutes ago, she was in the backseat in her car seat when we were bringing her home from the hospital.”

When Lucie turned sixteen and obtained her driver's license in 2023, Willie acknowledged that it brought tears to his eyes.

In February 2024, he shared on the Today show about her obtaining her license:

“I had the same feeling as when I taught her how to ride a bike in Riverside Park.”

George William Geist

George, the youngest of the two Geist children, was born in July 2009 and is already making a name for himself as an entertainer. He has an interest in music and plays the piano and drums, which his father admits he can't play, but supports his son.

In a 2023 interview, Willie told People Magazine,

“He's a great musician. The minute he started showing interest and promise in that, we totally encouraged him to continue to do it.”

Little George also enjoys comedy. He is an ardent fan of Saturday Night Live and quotes Will Ferrell's old sketches at the dinner table. George also enjoys pop culture and is shy in front of the big stars, but he once clammed up before a Zoom call with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson.

Despite being a big star on TV, Willie Geist and his wife, Christina, have made efforts to raise their children in a realistic environment. Geist recently joked about his kids not understanding that he's a new 'TV boyfriend,' a word that Today's Jena Bush Hager came up with.

Geist told US Weekly:

“Fairly certain my kids are not aware of it. Whenever Jenna Bush Hager puts a crown on you, you just take it, smile and wave.”

He has mentioned that his adolescent daughter frequently scoffs at his lack of popular culture knowledge. He joked about attempting to keep up with The Real Housewives, saying:

“You can’t drop in on the finale and start asking all the questions."

Nevertheless, Willie Geist is involved in his children's lives. He revealed in an interview with People Magazine in July 2023,

“I'm home at night and have been since they were babies. I've been there at dinner time. I've been there at bath time, been there for tuck-in time and reading books. So I feel very lucky to trade-off."

Willie cherishes the little things, like teaching Lucie to drive, supporting George at baseball games, or just hanging around over breakfast at the Sunday café. Speaking to US Weekly, Willie Geist said,

“It’s such a cliché that every parent tells you, but it’s true. One minute they’re in a car seat, and the next, you’re getting them measured for a graduation cap and gown for high school graduation and you just cannot believe it.”

He added,

“And while I’m having my dad feelings, because she is our first to go off as well, I’m just so excited for her to go do her thing and go become who she’s going to be. Because I know it’s going to be somebody really, really special.”

Willie Geist's wife, Christina, is a well-known businesswoman, has likewise changed careers and made sacrifices to put their family first. She left her position at Johnson & Johnson when George was born to devote more time to their kids. Her children even contribute to her novel ideas by giving her input on the plots and characters.
