Elon Musk and Taylor Swift recently had a bizarre exchange on social media. On September 11, 2024, the Love Story singer shared an Instagram post where she called herself a ‘Childless Cat Lady’ while explicitly declaring that she would vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election.
Taylor Swift's endorsement came after the recent debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. The post also included a photo of her cradling a cat. However, after her endorsement went viral, the X CEO wrote:
“Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life.”
Elon Musk’s X post was not far from criticism as several netizens pointed out that what he wrote was weird. Some users even called it disgusting. His comment on Taylor Swift was more unusual because he reportedly has 12 kids with three women. Musk has six children with his first wife, Justine Wilson, three with his former girlfriend Grimes, and three with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis.
Elon Musk and Justine Wilson reportedly lost their first child
Elon Musk and Canadian author Wilson married in January, 2000 and welcomed their son, Nevada Alexander Musk in 2002. Tragically, Nevada passed away from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), when he was just 10 weeks old. After losing their first child, they used IVF to expand their family. In April, 2004, they welcomed twins Griffin and Vivian, who are now 20 years old.
Using IVF, the couple also had triplet sons Kai, Saxon, and Damian in January, 2006 who are 18 years old now. Elon Musk and Justine Wilson separated in 2008.
He started dating singer Grimes, whose real name is Claire Elise Boucher in May, 2018. They welcomed their son, X AE A-XII, in May 2020. Their son was initially named X Æ A-12, but was modified as California law prohibited certain characters not part of the English alphabet. In September, 2021, the couple reportedly split.
In March 2022, Grimes reportedly revealed that she and the SpaceX founder had welcomed their first daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogate in December 2021. Exa was nicknamed Y.
However, he quietly welcomed a third child with Grimes, named Techno Mechanicus. While details about the child have not been revealed much, the child is believed to have been born around June 2022. Techno Mechanicus has the nickname ‘Tau’.
Elon Musk is also a father to twins Strider and Azure
Musk allegedly welcomed twins with Neuralink’s director of operations and special projects, Shivon Zilis, in November, 2021. The twins are now 2 years old. Reportedly, they filed a petition to change the twins' names so that they would carry their father's last name and include their mother's last name as part of their middle name, which was eventually approved.
Their names, Strider and Azure, were made known in September, 2023.
In June, 2024, Bloomberg reported that the couple welcomed a third child together at the beginning of the year. Elon Musk confirmed the birth of his 12th child by allegedly claiming that his friends and family knew about it. The name and sex of the baby have not been disclosed.
