He shares his first child, a son named Onyx, with his ex-girlfriend, Australian rapper Iggy Azalea. Onyx was born in 2020 when the world was battling the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following his son's birth, Azalea has often publicly called out Playboi Carti, claiming that he prioritized his career over their son, per HotNewHipHop. She also expressed disappointment in her former partner, adding that he has allegedly missed several significant moments in their son's life. However, on the contrary, Carti has claimed that he is active in his son's life and upbringing.

In 2023, Carti confirmed the birth of his daughter, Yves. In the lyrics of his rap, the Magnolia rapper mentioned that he had his son when he was 24 years old. As he reached the age of 27, he welcomed his daughter:

"I was twenty-four when I had lil' Onyx/ Then I had a daughter, I had a daughter too/ Twenty-seven when I had Yves/ Now I can finally sleep."

While fans were happy about the new addition to Playboi Carti's family, they were also reminded of a certain controversy that unfolded earlier that year.

For the unversed, Carti was arrested in a domestic dispute case. Following his arrest, the police reportedly claimed that the victim was the rapper's "pregnant girlfriend." However, his lawyer denied all the allegations, arguing that "Mr. Carter was falsely accused."

According to an affidavit obtained by TMZ, Carti allegedly choked his girlfriend, who was 14 weeks pregnant, during an argument about a paternity test. She further alleged that she thought she would not survive, but a third person intervened in the altercation. As she attempted to run toward her car, Carti allegedly followed and stopped her, the affidavit stated.

He was later released on a $100,000 bond.

Playboi Carti was reportedly absent during the birth of his son, Onyx. As a result, his then-girlfriend Azalea had to deliver him alone. A few months after Onyx's birth, Azalea took to social media to share a photo of Carti playing PlayStation with Lil Uzi Vert.

She shared how disappointed she was as it was a scheduled delivery.
