Lil Wayne's eldest child and only daughter is standing up for her father.
The rapper took to the stage at the SNL 50: The Anniversary Special, held this Sunday, February 16, alongside The Roots, to perform hits like Uproar and Lollipop. The move comes months after he expressed his sadness over not being named as the halftime performer for this year's Super Bowl.
However, fans have expressed their disappointment, triggering Wayne's daughter to respond to the backlash. The rapper is father to three sons, Dwayne, Kameron, and Neal, and one daughter, Reginae. He shares all his kids with four different women, Antonia "Toya" Johnson, Sarah Vivan, Lauren London, and Nivea, respectively.

On Sunday's performance, Lil Wayne performed several iconic hits like Uproar, followed by Lollipop, 6 Foot 7 Foot, Mrs. Officer, and finishing up with A Milli. However, in the wake of the mounting criticism online, Lil Wayne's daughter left a comment on Instagram as she jumped to her father's defense:
"Yall are some d riders ! My dad been having fun performing for years ! He is truly himself when he hit the stage . Go play with yall mf kids .. he collected a check after this .. what yall get for hating? Not a damn thing!"
Over the years, the two have maintained a close relationship with each other, People Magazine reported back in June 2024. She told the outlet back in May last year:
“My dad is super private, so I feel like even when the media gets him or puts him on blast, he pays dust to it. My dad is very nonchalant when it comes to that, so I've learned to kind of move like him," she said. "My father has told me to keep that tough skin and don't let nobody or nothing play with you or make you feel like you're less than or you've got to change yourself for the world.”
Reflecting on the bond he shares with his kids, Lil Wayne said back in 2023, during an episode of All the Smoke, per People Magazine:
"Important ain't even the word. That's life. Like you need food to live, that's just how it goes. I didn't have a father and it's not easy to do something that wasn't done for you but I figured it out. I'm at the age now where it isn't a challenge no more. Their love cancels all the challenges out."
Lil Wayne made his fourth appearance on SNL as a musical guest this week, having first done so in 2008. At the time, he had Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps serving as the host, while he belted his hits like Got Money and Lollipop.
