Jaime King and ex-husband Kyle Newman share two children, James, 11, and Leo, 9. Newman has been awarded sole physical custodoy of the two children while the court restricts Jaime from being alone with the kids until she completes a court-mandated six-month rehab as per court documents obtained by E! News on March 17.
Jaime King filed for divorce from the director in May 2020 after 13 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, King had requested for joint physical and legal custody along with spousal support.
As per a new court ruling, the actress has been given visitation rights, and can visit her son three times a week in specific hour blocks with supervision. Approved supervisors include, the actor's mother, sister, and brother-in-law.
This comes after the court order shows that the actress did not complete a 6-month drug and alcohol program, weekly testing, aftercare, a 2-step program and a 26-week parenting program, individual counseling, conjoint counseling with minors, after the minor's therapists required her to.
Kyle Newman calls Jaime King "a chronic drug addict and alcoholic"
This isn't the first time, Jaime King has made headline for alleged drug and alcohol abuse. When she filed for divorce against ex-husband Kyle Newman in May 2020, King in court documents mentioned that Newman had staged an "intervention" at their home in January 2020 and notified her close family that she was undergoing addiction problems.
The ex-couple have been in the middle of lengthy legal battle since April, 2024, after Jaime King filed for an emergency to edit their original spousal and child support agreement. As per court document obtained by People at the time, the actress lacked "the ability to pay the support."
While Kyle, in response that Jaime had "been out of compliance with the court's child and spousal support orders for well over a year." The director also called his ex-wife,
"A chronic drug addict and alcoholic who refuses to acknowledge that she has a problem, let alone seek meaningful treatment for such problem."

Kyle also accused Jaime of using drugs when she was pregnant with Leo, and claimed that their "unborn child was also addicted due to to her continued drug use." Newman had also accused Jaime of leaving Leo at a doctor's appointment while she went to purchase alcohol across the street.
King had denied the claims and stated that she had passed court-ordered drug tests.
