Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo is currently spending her time focusing on her three kids and working on various projects. The popular actress left the TV show in 2022 during its 19th season. However, she still serves as its executive producer and her titular character Meredith Grey narrates the show.
Pompeo's decision to leave the show came as a shock to its fans. However, she was clear about her decision to explore different projects and also give more time to her family. She shares her three children, two daughters Stella Luna and Sienna May, and son Eli Christopher with her husband Chris Ivery. The couple has been married since 2007.
Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery welcomed their first child, Stella, on September 15, 2009. Their eldest one is now 15 years old and has an interest in medicine. During one of her appearances on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Pompeo revealed how Stella would spend time with Linda, Grey's Anatomy's medical producer.
Once, under supervision, Pompeo found her daughter "drilling a fake femur bone with a real bone drill" on the show's sets.
While Pompeo is not very active on social media, she still ensures to post pictures with her kids from their special moments.
The Good American Family star had her second child, Sienna, via surrogate in 2014. Much is not known about her second daughter as the actress ensures to keep her kids away from the public light.
Eli Christopher, Ellen Pompeo, and Chris Ivery's son arrived in 2016. The actress announced the arrival of her son on social media and since then posted a few pictures and videos with him.
According to some of the recent photos and videos, Eli is fond of singing and has a pleasant voice. He is also seemingly very close to his father.
Why Ellen Pompeo does not want her daughter to watch Grey's Anatomy?
Grey's Anatomy is an award-winning TV drama that has entertained viewers since 2005. The show's consistent story and star cast have left viewers glued to their TV screens and eagerly waiting for a new season. Despite being the most crucial part of such a popular show, Ellen Pompeo is not willing to show it to her daughter.
During her recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Pompeo revealed that her eldest one has already watched the show. However, her second daughter wants to watch it, but she is not ready to show it to her.
"My 15-year-old has seen it. And now my 10-year-old wants to see it, which, she’s not ready, but a lot of kids in her class have seen it."
Sharing the reason behind her decision, she said,
"I don’t want my daughter to see me in my underwear on television just yet, but all her classmates have."
Ellen Pompeo added that she is not judging other parents for letting their kids watch the show. She further called Hollywood "a super weird place in that way, but also a really incredible place at the same time." Noting the reason behind it, she said how kids "look all around them and they see a bunch of people whose dreams came true. And they believe that their dreams, too, can come true."
