Daphne Oz was at the White House with her family on Friday, April 18, when her daughter reportedly fainted in front of the US President, sparking concerns online.

Some pictures from the event made it to social media, capturing the TV host-chef helping her child. Daphne recently addressed the incident, sharing a health update, asserting that it was not anything serious and her daughter “bounced right back.” Sharing photos with her family from their trip to the White House, Oz wrote,

“Thank you to everyone checking in on Philo after her big day in the Oval Office 🙏❤️ We are so grateful it was nothing serious, and she bounced right back — with a trip for some delicious Navy Mess soft serve for good measure!! 🍦”

Daphne visited the White House to attend the swearing in ceremony of her father, Dr. Oz, who joined in as the 17th administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The food writer-TV host was accompanied by her husband, John Jovanovic, and two children – Philomena Bijou and Jovan Jr.

Daphne Oz is a mother of four, with Philomena (11) and Jovan (9) being two of her eldest kids. She and John Jovanovic are parents to two other daughters – Domenica Celine (7) and Giovanna Ines (5). In 2020, when Daphne was pregnant with her fourth child, she had a conversation with Jenni Kayne while reflecting on her motherhood,

“Becoming a mom means meeting your baby and a new version of yourself in the same moment. This upgraded you has bits and pieces of the old model—we still love some if not all of the things we used to before we had kids. But our priorities are reshuffled.”

Daphne Oz added,

“Time is even more precious. And you’ve never wanted to do something right and well so much as motherhood so the pressure is high. But the reward is priceless.”

Daphne Oz thanked US President Donald Trump for making her children “feel comfortable in a stressful situation”

As mentioned, Dr. Oz’s granddaughter Philomena Bijou reportedly fainted in front of the 47th US President. Her mother later shared a health update revealing that the kid was doing fine after the incident. In the post, Daphne Oz also extended her gratitude towards the White House team and medical staff for being kind to her daughter.

She also thanked Donald Trump for ensuring that her children feel comfortable. Daphne called the US President “exceedingly warm, caring and generous” for spending time with her children and gifting them “treasures.” Oz wrote,

“Thank you to President Trump who went out of his way to make both our children feel comfortable in a stressful situation. He was exceedingly warm, caring and generous as he spent personal time with each of them at the Resolute Desk and gifted them treasures to take home. A more than memorable day at the White House for all of us!!”

Daphne Oz also wrote about her father being sworn in as the 17th CMS Administrator. She noted how her dad, Dr. Mehmet Oz, helped others during his career as a cardiothoracic surgeon and later through his TV show. Daphne added,

“This next chapter is a huge undertaking to help every American regain their hope for health — the best data, the best care, the best outcomes —, and I am rooting for all of us. Love you, Dad!”

Dr. Oz, a Harvard University alum, is the son of Turkish immigrants who has been appearing on TV for over two decades. The Republican also hosted The Dr. Oz Show, which ran for 13 seasons and provided essential medical and health-related information.
