How did Lotto Savage die? 21 Savage mourns late rapper

On March 19, 2025, a close friend of 21 Savage and a member of the Slaughter Gang collective, Lotto Savage was reportedly shot to death in Decatur, Georgia. He was only thirty-six. An outpouring of mourning from fans, musicians, and close friends has devastated the rap business since his death. 21 Savage, among others, used social media to share his grief openly.

Initial reports state that Lotto Savage was shot repeatedly in an apartment complex in the Atlanta suburb of Decatur. Police were called to the scene of the incident and discovered the rapper seriously wounded. He was brought to a hospital where pronounced dead.

Details about the shooting's circumstances, including potential suspects or reasons, have not yet been made public by the authorities. He was ambushed right outside a residential complex. Witnesses said they heard many gunshots at about 10:45 p.m. before witnessing a suspect leaving in a dark-colored vehicle.

By the time the paramedics reached and tried reviving him, he was already pronounced dead. Although the idea of a targeted attack has not been ruled out, officials are also thinking about the likelihood that this was the outcome of an ongoing conflict.


21 Savage mourns the loss of Lotto Savage

21 Savage was a close friend and collaborator of Lotto Savage, and has been profoundly impacted by his passing. Lotto Savage and 21 were longtime pals, having first collaborated in Atlanta's underground rap scene before becoming well-known. 21 posted several past photographs of the two of them together on his Instagram stories.

Lotto Savage and 21 Savage were longtime pals, having first collaborated in Atlanta's underground rap scene before becoming well-known. Lotto Savage has been known to support 21 Savage and the Slaughter Gang.

Rappers from Atlanta, including Lil Baby and Young Nudy also paid tribute to Lotto, recalling him as a devoted friend and gifted musician.

Lotto Savage, whose real name was Otis Williams Jr., was born on September 11, 1988. In the middle of the 2010s, he became famous as a member of 21 Savage's Slaughter Gang. His style of rapping was unfiltered storytelling that showcased his Atalanta roots and garnered respect from fans. He gained more recognition after he featured on 21 Savage's mixtape Slaughter King.

Lotto Savage gained popularity thanks to the tracks Trapped It Out and Stack Up off his debut album, Don Slaughter, released in 2016. He collaborated with some well-known musicians from Atlanta, like as Lil Yachty, Hoodrich Pablo Juan, and Young Nudy. His music resonated with audiences who could identify with his stories of hardship and survival because of its harsh lyrics and powerful sounds.

He had released his last album which was titled, Unfinished Business which was released in November 2024, almost four months before he passed away. The eight-track EP was co-produced by him and his longtime manager DJ Kutthroat.


Lotto Savage's legacy will continue through his music as fans and other musicians struggle to cope with the loss. Although the rapper's family has not yet made a public comment, many close to him say they are heartbroken by his demise. The details of his funeral service should be announced in the next several days.
