Reality TV star Towanda Braxton and music producer Sean Hall have married in a private ceremony. The couple, who have been together for over nine years, had officially engaged last October.
The news of their secret wedding was shared by The Jasmine Brand on Instagram. The post stated:
"Congratulations are in order for Towanda Braxton and her new husband, Sean Hall! The reality star tied the knot with her boyfriend of more than nine years in an intimate ceremony, officially becoming Mrs. Hall after getting engaged last year."
The post also mentioned that Towanda Braxton's sister, Tamar Braxton, allegedly did not attend the ceremony in Decatur, Georgia on 22 March. The two sisters have been at odds since last year, with their tension becoming evident during an episode of The Braxtons, where they got into a verbal confrontation.
"While her sisters Toni and Trina served as bridesmaids, Towanda’s sister Tamar was reportedly not part of the wedding—and wasn't even in attendance."
The post also claims that other celebrities attended the intimate wedding ceremony celebrations.
"A slew of other celebs did reportedly join the celebration, including Terri J. Vaughn, Derek Blanks, Ebony Steele, Cocoa Brown, Lawrence Robinson, Ryan Cameron, Frank Ski, Xscape’s Tameka Scott, Mister Ray, Claudia Jordan, Mimi Faust, and Jamie Foster Brown."
More about Towanda Braxton and Sean Hall's relationship
Towanda Braxton and Sean Hall began dating in 2016. Braxton was previously married to Andre Carter, but the pair divorced in 2017 after thirteen years of marriage. The former couple shares two children, Braxton Carter and Brooke Carter.
In a 2021 interview with EURweb, the "Hood Riches" actress opened up about what makes her trust Sean Hall after her difficult relationship with Andrew Carter, whom she refers to as her "wasband."
"Yeah that but before then, he didn’t meet the kids until I knew it was going to be what it is. Even though I knew him for a long time, I didn’t carry my luggage with me. I left my luggage with my wasband. I had to understand that each male is an individual. And because I went through these things with my wasband—while we were together, he never stopped being in a relationship with other people."
She continued :
"I realize he’s an individual and I couldn’t carry all the cheating and the lying into this relationship or it wouldn’t have been healthy. But he made it safe for me to talk about it. He was inviting. He was like you’ve got to get it out, honey. The more you talk about it, the less it becomes a trigger."
In 2020, Sean unofficially proposed to her with a promise ring. In the same interview, Towanda Braxton explained the reason behind Sean giving her that ring.
"We’ve been talking about marriage. We know we’re going to get married. It’s going to be a great situation because I’m the only sister that never had a wedding. So it’s going to be a big deal. He gave me a promise ring from Tiffany. I don’t care we go. I don’t care how big or small my ring is, I just love him. He’s an incredible guy and I’m just so blessed to have a man like that. And because he’s in the business, I don’t have to explain things to him."
Sean proposed to her during the final episode of the Braxton family reality show, The Braxtons.
He said:
"The number eight means a lot to me, because the number eight stands for a new beginning. It's been a beautiful ride,” Hall shared. “I just have one question for you. Towanda C. Braxton, will you marry me?”
Although Towanda Braxton has been teasing fans with pictures of moments leading up to her wedding, the couple are yet to release an official statement confirming their marriage.
