On January 5, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody were photographed together at the Golden Globes 2025. Having been married for a few years, the actors continued to give couple goals to their fans.
The pair first met six years before they first started dating. In 2021, Brody recollected his first meeting with Meester while appearing on Anna Faris' Unqualified podcast. The O.C. star revealed that he met his future wife through Josh Schwartz at a Los Angeles deli around 2007. Schwartz introduced him to the cast of Canter's Gossip Girl, including Leighton Meester. Here's a quote from the Unqualified podcast:
"I was on The O.C., and that was coming to an end and Gossip Girl was starting. And so… Josh Schwartz produced both shows. The first time we met, that whole cast was eating at Canter's [Deli] and I lived at Canter's for, like, my entire 20s. And, I was leaving and he introduced all of us and then [I] bumped into her, like, two or three times over the next couple of years."
He added,
"I was seeing someone at the time. So we met kind of through mutual work friends off and on. We didn't get together until about a year after that movie, when I was single."
On Podcrush episode 34, Brody told hosts Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari about getting "smitten," by Meester on their first meeting. The actor reiterated how he met the Gossip Girl star for the first time at Canter's Deli, as he added,
"That's when I saw her, and, yeah, I was smitten instantly. And I was, you know, smitten for a long time. I didn't get to know her for many years after, even though we even worked together briefly. I didn't get to know… She's so lovely, and she's so sweet. She's so nice. She's so good."
A few years after their first meeting in LA, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody did The Oranges together. At the time of the shooting, Brody was already involved with someone else. Thus, the romance between Brody and Meester didn't brew until the start of 2013, when the Ready or Not actor became single again.

At their first meeting, Adam Brody and Leighton Meester were not even colleagues. They reportedly started dating in early 2013 after briefly reconnecting as work friends during the shoots of The Oranges. After some months of dating, the couple got engaged in November of that year. In February 2014, Brody and Meester officially tied the knot in an intimate ceremony.
In August 2015, the couple welcomed their firstborn, Arlo, a daughter. Their second child, a son, was born five years later, in September 2020. Although Adam Brody and Leighton Meester have been together for over a decade, they have been pretty private about their personal lives. The couple is often seen together at social events, award nights, and more.

Meester wore a yellowish green metallic mesh dress to the award night, while Brody donned a double-breasted dark green suit. Brody was also nominated in the "Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy" category, but the Bear star Jeremy Allen White ultimately got the award.
