Amid news of a possible biopic based on her, pop icon Britney Spears was spotted having a casual day with her boyfriend, Paul Soliz, and his kids on Valentine’s Day. According to TMZ, the couple, along with Soliz’s kids, made most of a drive around L.A. and stopped at a drive-thru for some food. What seemed like a relaxed day with her boyfriend may perhaps have done the Princess of Pop some good, whose struggles with her family and conservatorship have been well-documented.

Britney Spears began a relationship with Paul Soliz after her July 2023 split from her third husband, Sam Asghari. Spears and Asghari’s divorce was finalized in May 2024, and their marriage lasted only fourteen months.

According to US Weekly, Soliz and Spears met when the former was employed to perform maintenance services in Spears’ home. Their relationship came into the limelight when an incident occurred at the L.A. hotel, Chateau Marmont, on May 2, 2024.

According to reports, the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the hotel to help with an “adult female injured” when a fight allegedly broke out between Spears and Soliz. However, the department spokesperson spoke to Daily Mail, verifying that no one was taken to the hospital. Spears was then seen walking out of the hotel barefoot, visibly upset, and holding a blanket and pillow.

Reports could not ascertain beyond a doubt if a fight had indeed taken place between Spears and Soliz. In a video of her swollen foot posted on social media, Spears said she had injured herself while she

"tries (sic) to do a leap in the living room at the Chateau."

Who is Paul Soliz?

Speaking to the media, Soliz has said he is a “licensed contractor.” Although Soliz has a criminal record that includes unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition and child endangerment, he told US Weekly,

“I’m not a bad dude. I understand that things have been said about me in the past, and I have a criminal record — I get it…I’m a working man. I own my own business. I do a licensed contractor technique tile.”

Soliz spent around 3 months in prison, following which he started dating Britney Spears. Soliz also has children from previous relationships. It has been reported that Spears (who has two children of her own) gets along well with her boyfriend’s children, who are also extremely fond of her.

Soliz has had some trouble with the mother of his ex-wife as well, against whom he had to obtain a restraining order in September last year. According to a report by In Touch, the incident involved Soliz’s ex-mother-in-law failing to hand over Soliz’s daughter back to him and threatening him.

In July 2024, Britney Spears had expressed anger at Paul Soliz on Instagram. Her discontentment with her boyfriend was related to an incident with the paparazzi, and she accused Soliz of courting attention as he allegedly pretended to out-drive photographers in a car but then lowered Spears’ window in time for the paparazzi to get a photo. Following this, Spears posted to her Instagram in a now-deleted caption, saying she was

“Single as f*** !!!”

Having seen her enjoy with Soliz’s kids after this incident confirmed that she was back together with him. TMZ had covered a trip Spears took with Soliz’s children to an indoor playground in August 2024. The Valentine’s Day drive also seems to confirm that all may be going well between Spears and Soliz.
