Ashton Kutcher's long-standing relationship with Sean "Diddy" Combs has come under renewed interest following the latter's arrest and the resurfacing of a September 2019 Hot Ones interview.
In the clip, Kutcher was probed about Diddy's notorious parties, now known as "Freak offs" to which he jokingly replied, "I've got a lot I can't tell," before breaking into laughter.
He noted that he couldn't tell the world what went down at Diddy's parties, claiming that it was "weird" thinking about it. He also touched on the genesis of his friendship with the now-disgraced mogul. He noted that it all started back when Diddy caught wind of Kutcher's MTV show, Punk'd.
Ashton Kutcher claims his relationship with Diddy was "really bizarre"
In the video, host Sean Evans asked Ashton Kutcher what it was like attending Diddy's parties, to which he said:
"Can’t tell that one either. … I’m actually cycling through them. Diddy party stories, man, that was some weird memory lane thing.”
Ashton Kutcher subsequently reflected on how the two became friends, and that it was jarring for him. He said,
"Our relationship is really bizarre. It started over Punk’d because he was like, ‘Yo, you can’t punk me!’ I was like, “I don’t know what to tell you, everybody is on the table.’ He’s like, ‘Not me. I’m off the table.’ That started our conversation. We became fast friends and we used to just hang out, watch football together.”
Mila Kunis' husband and former co-star then said the two quickly became friends and would "hang out and watch football together.” He recanted going on a run with him one time, but about halfway through, Combs admitted he was "running out of gas.” Kutcher then jokingly revealed that he slowed down for Combs to catch up so the paparazzi wouldn't think he couldn't “finish this thing.”
“He was losing it, right? Like, he was like me right now with the wings, and the heat’s starting to kick up. And so he just started immediately training for the New York [City] Marathon. Even when he’s that close to humility, it becomes a driver."
Back in 2004, Ashton Kutcher told Rolling Stone that Combs opened up a whole new world for him when it came to intimacy. He noted that after meeting Combs, "there was always girls around."
He also noted that if you simply opened a door, you'd "see somebody doing it, or several people in a room" doing it. "You never knew what was going to happen.”
It remains unknown exactly which of the "freak off" parties Ashton Kutcher attended.
Last year, the That '70s Show star was hit with a mountain of backlash following his public support of Danny Masterson, a convicted rapist.
Following the scrutiny, Ashton Kutcher stepped down from his role at Thorn, the anti-sex trafficking organization he co-founded.
