On March 12, 2024, Ghost Adventures' Aaron Goodwin filed for divorce amidst the arrest of his wife, Victoria Goodwin, on suspicion that she had been involved in a murder-for-hire plot to kill her husband. It is reported that she was arrested on charges of conspiracy to commit murder as well as soliciting to commit murder.
According to People magazine, citing court records, Aaron Goodwin (48) filed for divorce from his wife, 32-year-old Victoria. According to multiple outlets citing court documents, the reason for divorce is:
"The views, tastes, likes ,and dislikes of husband and wife have become incompatible to the extent that it has become impossible for them to live together … in marital harmony...There is no possibility of reconciliation.
Aaron Goodwin is also asking the court not to award alimony to either party, to confirm his separate debts and assets as his sole property, while requesting an equal division of community property, as well as a reimbursement for "his reasonable costs, expenses, and attorney fees incurred herein."
Victoria Goodwin, reportedly arrested on March 6, 2024, was in contact with a Florida inmate and allegedly asked him to “end Aaron’s existence.” Though she reportedly admitted to being in contact with the inmate, she denied any intention of murder. She was held in jail with bail set at $100,000 and is scheduled to have her first court hearing on March 25.
More about Victoria Goodwin's alleged murder-for-hire plot against Aaron Goodwin
Aaron Goodwin and Victoria had reportedly been together since 2018 and got married at Disneyland's Haunted Mansion in August 2022. Court documents from Aaron's divorce complaint state their wedding date as May 2020 (the wedding was delayed due to COVID-19).
Though Victoria had recently posted a selfie with her husband, it seems their marriage was not going well. Victoria reportedly admitted to the police that she and Aaron were having marital problems but denied all accusations of plotting her husband's murder.
Regarding the alleged murder-for-hire plot, Victoria is accused of contacting an inmate in Florida and conspiring to murder her husband via a third party with whom the inmate was reportedly in contact. Some reports allege that the inmate is Grant Amato, who was convicted of murdering his family due to his obsession with a cam girl.
According to reports, text messages between Victoria and the inmate include discussions about her wanting to leave the marriage and multiple mentions of the alleged murder scheme. Victoria claims she has no recollection of sending messages to the alleged hitman.
The publication further reported that she had set aside approximately $11,500 to pay the inmate, discussed an upfront payment of $2,500, and allegedly even provided her husband's location and filming schedule. However, Victoria claims that the money exchange was for cell phones.
Police reportedly became aware of the conversation between the inmate and Victoria after discovering the phone smuggled in by the inmate during an inspection.
