Quincy Jones' daughter, Martina Jones, while talking to Entertainment Tonight at the Oscars 2025 red carpet mentioned that she is honored and humbled after seeing all the love for her late father, who died in November 2024. Her words come after Queen Latifah, Oprah Winfrey, and Whoopi Goldberg, paid tribute to the late legend.
Martina can be heard saying:
"It's still hard...yeah...it's still tough. But we definitely felt it, it's a day to day thing. But uhm I am very honored and very humbled by all the love and all the support...so we appreciate that."
Quincy Jones was a well-known US musician and producer who worked for the likes of Micheal Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, and many others. Jones died at the age of 91 at his home in Bel Air.

Oprah Winfrey, Whoopi Goldberg, and Queen Latifah paid tribute to Quincy Jones at the Oscars on March, 2. Goldberg said:
"When we talk about black excellence, we're talking about Quincy. He actually discovered me for The Color Purple, which was my first film."
Goldberg highlighted Jones' accomplishments including his nomination for Best Original Song for The Eyes of Love from the film Banning in 1967. With his nomination, he became the first Black composer to be nominated in that category.
While Winfrey added:
"We all honor Q's family tonight. Quincy was love lived out lout in human form, and he poured that love into other people and their work."
Queen Latifah took to the stage to perform a rendition of Ease on Down the Road from The Wiz, a film produced by Jones. The musician had seven children from five different relationships; Kidada, Rashida Jones, Jolie Jones Levine, Rachel Jones, Martina Jones, Quincy Jones III, and Kenya Kinski-Jones. In the days before his death, Quincy dedicated a loving message to his daughter, Martina saying:
"Happy Birthday to my Tina Beena @martinafotos1 !! So proud to be yo papa! Big hug, I love you eternally."
At the time of his death, his family shared a statement to People Magazine saying:
"Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones' passing. And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him."
The Chicago native gained recognition as a trumpet player in bands for jazz legends including Lionel Hampton and Dizzy Gillespie.
