Legendary filmmaker Tim Burton, known for impressing fans for decades through his vision finally received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in L.A. on September 3, 2024. Burton is among a few thousand celebrated personalities like Tom Hanks, Harrison Ford, and Oprah Winfrey to have been given this honor.

Tim Burton's unique filmmaking style has categorized him among Hollywood's highly creative minds, and his recent achievement is another great example to highlight Burton's contribution to the entertainment world.

The director was accompanied by a few cast members of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice who didn't miss the chance to speak highly of Tim Burton since they had previously collaborated with the director for successful projects.

Batman director Tim Burton receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Tim Burton undoubtedly deserved the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as fans and netizens have been celebrating the filmmaker on social media. He is popular among movie lovers, whether from the '90s or the younger generation, and the upcoming release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice has brought him back into the spotlight.

Tim Burton was joined by Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and his partner Monica Bellucci at the event in Los Angeles. After receiving the honor, Burton mentioned that the star is "very special" to him and added:

"As a child, I used to come down here from Burbank on the bus—no adults... In fact, I was young enough to think these things (stars) were actually gravestones when I first came down here."

Burton expressed his gratitude to everyone who has contributed to his successful career and shared that he used to visit the area often as a child.

Earning the star at a place he frequently explored made the moment unforgettable for him. The Batman Returns director and his partner Monica Bellucci were seen twinning in stunning black outfits and holding hands while sitting among the audience.

Following the recognition, actress Winona Ryder reflected on her collaboration with Burton and how he boosted her confidence when she was young.


Winona Ryders says honoring Tim Burton with the star feels like "A medal on Mount Everest"

Both Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton previously worked with Tim Burton in Beetlejuice when Ryder was just 17 years old. During her speech at the event on Tuesday, Ryder praised the director and said:

"Giving him this star is sort of like pinning a medal on Mount Everest for being the tallest mountain."

The Stranger Things star also explained that Burton has a deep understanding of people and portrays every character with depth in his films. Ryder added that many of his heroes are "outcasts that he loves," and she is incredibly grateful to have been cast in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Additionally, Michael Keaton reflected on the time when he was criticized for playing Batman and faced harsh comments online. Despite the controversy and backlash, Tim Burton stood by his decision to cast Keaton as the Caped Crusader, showing his respect for the actor's work and contribution to the film.
