On October 10, attorneys representing Garth Brooks' accuser filed sanctions against the country singer for revealing the name of his accuser.
Jane Roe’s lawyers, Douglas H. Wigdor, Jeanne M. Christensen, and Hayley Baker, in a statement, said,

"Garth Brooks just revealed his true self. Out of spite and to punish, he publicly named a r*pe victim. With no legal justification, Brooks outed her because he thinks the laws don’t apply to him. On behalf of our client, we will be moving for maximum sanctions against him immediately.”
A representative from Roe's team mentioned that by revealing the accuser's name, Garth exhibits "retaliatory" and "abusive" behavior that "compels s**ual assault victims to remain silent."
On October 9, Garth Brooks named the woman, who anonymously, under the name of Jane Roe, accused him of rape in a lawsuit. In an amended complaint filed on October 9, Garth's lawyers publicized the accuser's name and called Brooks a "victim of the shakedown."

Garth Brooks' former makeup artist, accused him of assault, battery, s*xual battery, gender violence, and violations of the Bane Act and Ralph Act. In the lawsuit, the accuser alleged that the misconduct started in 2019 when she was r*ped by the singer in a hotel room when they were traveling to L.A for a Grammy tribute to another artist.
The woman, while detailing the assault, mentioned that Garth Brooks groper her, changed clothes in front of her, shared s*xual fantasies with her, and sent her inappropriate messages.
While responding to the recent allegations of Roe's lawyers on Brooks naming the accuser, Brooks' lawyer, while justifying the action, quoted one of her filings. Her filing mentioned that she was willing to proceed using her name if the court deemed it necessary to deny the motion to remain anonymous. The filing read,
"Although Ms. Roe believes that she should be permitted to remain anonymous...if the court determines that the status of her name meaningfully impacts whether Plaintiff can proceed as a 'Doe', Ms. Roe is willing to proceed and use her own name in this action."
After the lawsuit was initially filed against Brooks, he alleged that he would not be paying the woman "hush money" since, by doing so, he was "admitting to behavior I am incapable of - ugly acts no human should ever do to another." He added that he "trusts the system" and does not "fear the truth."
