In a recent interview, Ray J divulged that Nicki Minaj is constantly on his mind following an encounter on Instagram Live between the two on October 30, 2024. The singer sat down with Pastor Jamal Bryant on the reverend’s The Jamal Bryant Podcast: Let’s Be Clear podcast to say:

"I'm not even gonna lie, I think about her every day. I think about Nicki every day. In ways that nobody would wanna be, right? Cuz again, she's a married woman, and I've made it a point that every time I addressed her on the interview, it was Mrs. Petty. She's never on no junkie stuff like that but some of the things that she be saying to me just left me stuck, you know? And I haven't been the same since."

Ray J was referencing the viral exchange he had with Nicki. In speaking about the experience, he said:

"When Nicki and I talked, it felt like character to character—I felt like I was in some kind of, like, dominatrix skit. Is dominatrix a sin? I’m not gonna even lie. I think about it every day.”

However, while Ray J made it clear he respects Minaj's marital status, fans were less than pleased. Many took to X to weigh in, with several pointing out that this was just another one of his moves. Here's how one user reacted:

"he’s so desperate."

The opinions didn't end there:

"He’s so thirsty for attention. Never thought he would turn out to be this corny," one user claimed.
"Because she saw through him like a bad lace wig, Nicki don’t be crazy," another asserted.
"he queen has that effect *throws pixie dust*," another joked.
"Something ain't right with this man I know he's up to something and it ain't good," yet another opined online.

More and more began chiming in to diss the rapper:

"This was awkward," one user declared.
"Nicki’s aura is too powerfull, bad people get locked in their mind with their fears," someone else joked.
"Weird af knowing fully well that a woman with family," a third person opined.
"They ALL think about Nicki everyday this is nothing new," yet another jested.

Others online simply reacted with funny gifs and memes of Nicki Minaj, acknowledging that Nicki "really is that queen."

Ray J calls out Pastor Bryant for shooting the interview "illegally"

During the interview with the reverend, the 43-year-old former Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star reflected on his rocky mental health journey. However, before the interview came out, the two engaged in a heated discussion over the release of the footage. Here's what Ray J had to say:

"Yo, I got nothing but love for Pastor Bryant. Shoutout to Jamal Bryant… but if y’all play that interview, somebody getting snatched off the pulpit. Don’t play the interview, it’s not cleared, it’s out of bounds. Me and Pastor Bryant need to talk because the way I was treated was dirty and illegal.”

However, according to Vibe, Bryant responded by noting he was baffled at receiving the “threats.”

"It was both surprising and disheartening to wake up to unfounded threats and baseless accusations directed at me. As part of our commitment to honest dialogue, we ensured that specific comments with potential legal ramifications were edited out of the interview to safeguard the best interest of a brother beloved.”

Ray J later took to Instagram to issue an apology to the pastor and his church at large:

"I apologize to you and the whole church community! What I did might be unforgivable but I still want you to know that I’m sorry and it was not ok what I did. Speaking that kind of language to a pastor is unbelievable, it’s uncalled for, it’s disrespectful, it’s distasteful, it’s disgraceful in every sense.”

During the interview, rapper Ray J also revealed that he once thought of taking his own life and that at one point, suicidal ideation took over for him.

As for Nicki Minaj, she has been married to Kenneth "Zoo" Petty since 2019, and in 2020, they welcomed their son, nicknamed "Papa Bear."
