A video of Travis Scott being accosted by an NBA security guard who failed to recognize the artist is doing the rounds online.
The video, shot at Tuesday's Lakers vs. Clippers game, shows the rapper sauntering down the court when the security guard grabbed him by his jacket. Upon realizing who it was, however, he let the singer go. Scott, on the other hand, brushed off the encounter and continued on his way.
The video has since been drawing mixed reactions, though scores online did point out that the security guard was just doing his job. Here's what one user stated:
"He is just doing his job."
The comments didn't end there, as scores echoed the sentiment:
"Yeah that’s what security is there for," someone stated.
"Love Travis but the man has zero Aura, that's an honest mistake," another joked.
"Respect that he didnt made much out of it," one user stated.
"LMAOOO TRAVIS NOT COMING BACK TO A FLIPPERS GAME," someone joked.
Many others chimed in to poke fun at the situation:
"He reacted waaay too nonchalant after being roughed around like that," someone quipped.
"Travis Scoot must have be having a real hard time with never being recognized omg lol this is like the 5th video I’ve seen," another user theorized.
"I wouldn’t either. He looks similar to a lot of people tbh," one stated.
"travis jus played it off like it was nothing," another user pointed out.
The comments section of the post was visibly riddled with jokes and funny comments about the situation.
Here's everything we know about the awkward incident involving Travis Scott and an NBA security guard
Grammy-nominated Travis Scott, a regular at the NBA games, failed to wear the appropriate credentials that granted him access to the floor. Per TMZ, the security was looking for the same, and when he failed to spot the credentials, he tried to evict the rapper by force.
At the time, Travis Scott was attending the game courtside, which took place at the Inuit Dome, alongside Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin and his daughter Kylie. He was clad in a brown coat, a green shirt, and had a sizeable chain on.
Moments after the incident took place, onlookers and fans could be seen looking on in shock, though the rapper, seemingly unfazed, just walked over to someone standing near the tunnel that leads to the exit.
At the time of writing, neither the Inuit Dome nor the Clippers have commented on the debacle, though it seems likely that it was nothing but a case of confusion.
Travis Scott is a world-renowned artist, having performed during the halftime performance at the Super Bowl in 2019 alongside Maroon 5. He has also sold almost 10 million albums over the course of his career, Daily Mail has reported.
