Before they got into a relationship, the duo was friends for almost ten years. Although they are close in age, Blanco said he first met the singer when she was younger. While talking about their first date, he said,
“She literally asked me like we were just talking and then she was like ‘oh, you want to get dinner?’ and I went to dinner and I had no idea.”
