Kendrick Lamar’s set turned out to be the most viewed Super Bowl halftime show in the US after it garnered over 133.5 million across different platforms, per Roc Nation. The record-shattering show surpassed the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s performance in 1993, which amassed 133.4 million views.

Despite scripting the new record, Kendrick Lamar’s performance has divided many on the internet. Streamers like Pokimane, Kai Cenat, PlaqueBoxMax, and many more have given their two cents on the show. The latest to join the discussion is Adin Ross, who described Lamar’s set as “trash.”

During his recent collaborative stream with Jake Paul, Adin Ross commented on Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime show while criticizing the rapper for focusing on Drake. The streamer said,

“S*** was f****** trash bro. Like, it was just a**. Again, he had his moment to make the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl halftime show and he based it off Drake. And then, he said some stupid s***, like, bro, it was just dumb s***. I am not going to lie to you. It's just so stupid, it's just dumb.”

For the uninitiated, Kendrick, who was headlining the show, sang his famous diss track, Not Like Us, aimed at Drake. During the song, the former tennis star Serena Williams, who is rumored to be one of Drizzy’s ex-partners, makes an appearance.

Kendrick Lamar’s diss track aimed at Drake got many to scream “A Minor” during the Super Bowl halftime show

Lamar brought Samuel L Jackson to play the recurring role of Uncle Sam during his set. Jackson’s satirical commentary and Kendrick Lamar’s underlying messaging garnered much praise. K. Dot’s “right time but the wrong guy” remark also got many to talk about the symbolism his performance featured.

However, many regarded Not Like Us as Lamar’s most-hyped performance from his set. Just a week before Super Bowl LIX, the Humble rapper had won five Grammys for his Drake-aimed diss track. When he won Record of the Year, the entire Grammy crowd yelled “A Minor,” as he walked towards the stage.

A week later, on February 9, 2025, K. Dot arrived on the stage in New Orleans, with many expecting him to sing Not Like Us. The Compton rapper, who initially teased the track, ultimately performed it and even got Serena Williams to crip-walk, something that the tennis icon later posted through her Instagram account (@serenawilliams) and wrote,

“When @kendricklamar and team called and was like ‘we’ve been trying to do something forever, what about this? We loved your crip walk at the Olympics after you won the gold medal.’ I’m like Super Bowl? Are you serious? When in the world would I ever be able to dance at a superbowl? (Never) let’s do it! I knew my winning dance after the @olympics would pay off one day. End of Story.”

The song even got the crowd at the Caesars Superdome to chant “A Minor” with him, something PlaqueBoyMax also attested to in one of his recent streams. However, Not Like Us was not the only highlight, as the crowd in the arena and those sitting at home also got to witness SZA and DJ Mustard’s featured performances.
