In a recent Q&A session with Deadline at the Torino Film Festival in Italy, Sharon Stone slammed filmmaker Sam Raimi for not acknowledging the opportunities she brought him during his early career.

While promoting his film, The Quick and the Dead, which Sharon Stone produced and starred in, Stone discussed her experience working on the film alongside Raimi.

Stone had earlier worked with filmmaker Martin Scorsese in 1995's Casino and compared the two saying,

"In Sam Raimi's case, I really liked his films. I thought he was very intelligent and very funny, different from Marty because he's Italian, he has loyalty, he has that family feeling, and because of it Marty and I still have a relationship and because of it Marty and I still work together."

She then went on to comment on Sam, saying,

"Sam was a kid and he doesn't have loyalty, he doesn't have family, he didn't ever talk to me again, he didn't thank me, he didn't hire me again, he didn't acknowledge the relationship. Marty, because I worked so hard and because I admired him so much our relationship continues to today, there is depth there."

"The director Sam Raimi, who I had an opportunity to bring from 'B' movies to 'A' movies" - says Sharon Stone

While discussing her role in Sam Raimi's career growth, Sharon Stone said that she brought him from 'B' movies to 'A' and he went on to direct Spider-Man which established him as a big movie director.

"The director Sam Raimi, who I had an opportunity to bring from 'B' movies to 'A' movies, and then he directed Spider-Man and became a very big movie director."

Stone also went on to add that she brought Russel Crowe from Australia and also cast Leonardo DiCaprio steering him towards a "big leading role."

Although The Quick and the Dead was a flop upon its release, the movie has since become a cult classic of sorts. When asked why Stone didn't continue her work as a director, Sharon revealed that after The Quick and the Dead, she went into the studio with the script, and the music and pitched it while asking for $14 million.

Sharon Stone was also told that it was the "best pitch anyone ever heard" but Hollywood at the time in the 90s was resistant to women working and she felt as though her "intelligence was wasted trying to convince lesser intelligent studio heads to allow me to direct" and she went on to cast movies at studios.
