Hallmark star John Reardon took to his Instagram on December 24 to share the news of his tonsil cancer diagnosis. The post featured a photo of the actor sitting in a hospital bed with the caption,
"Last night was my first night out after my recovery from tonsil coancer. Has been a long road between these two pictures and the difference is from the love and support I received from my people in my life."
As per Cedars Sinai Organization, cancer of the tonsils usually involves palatine tonsils. Men are more likely to be diagnosed with tonsil cancer.
As per the org, the symptoms of tonsil cancer include a sore in the back of the mouth that won't heal, a tonsil larger on one side, blood in the saliva, mouth pain, difficulty chewing, swallowing, or speaking, severe ear pain, lump or pain in the neck, persistent sore throat, intolerance to eating or drinking citrus foods, pain when swallowing or bad breath.
