As the film is slated to release this month, fans of the MCU have been waiting to know whether Ford may have received any helpful tips and inputs from Mark Ruffalo, who has played the character of Bruce Banner/Hulk for over a decade.

Harrison Ford on Playing Red Hulk & Mark Ruffalo’s Involvement:

When asked if Mark Ruffalo had offered any advice on portraying the Red Hulk, Ford opened up that no such discussion took place between them. He revealed that -

"No, he wasn’t available for consultation. I just had to wing it. I hope he’s not disappointed.”

While fans might have anticipated Ruffalo, who has depicted the MCU’s Hulk since 2012 starting from the first Avengers film, to offer insight into the character, Ford has tackled the role self-reliantly.

His comment indicates that Ford is getting to the table with his own rendition of the character rather than trying to duplicate the past portrayal of the Hulk in the MCU.

Harrison Ford in Captain America: Brave New World:

Harrison Ford’s portrayal as Thaddeus Ross is estimated to play a highly significant role in Captain America: Brave New World, which also marks Anthony Mackie’s first big-screen appearance as Captain America after taking on the mantel from Steve Rogers during Avengers: Endgame in 2019.

The all-new Captain America film is directed by Julius Onah. It acts as a direct sequel to the second MCU Disney+ Series titled The Falcon and the Winter Soldier with other Captain America films in the MCU titled - Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War.

In an interview with Empire, Harrison Ford also confessed the challenge of taking up the role of a character previously portrayed by William Hurt. Hurt, who portrayed Ross in several MCU movies, left a long-lasting impression on the franchise. Ford spoke about this transitional challenge by saying -

“I was a little concerned about taking over from Bill Hurt, who was a wonderful actor.... I was ambitious to find the right way of assuming this character after the audience had seen other people doing it.”

With Captain America: Brave New World scheduled for a release on the 14th of February, 2025, the MCU fandom will soon get to see how Ford takes on the character of Ross differently from his predecessor.
