Hailee Steinfeld is all set to return as the voice of Gwen Stacy in Marvel's upcoming animated project, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, and the actress has revealed some important details about the project.

Originally slated for 2024, the film is now scheduled for a 2027 release. The story will revolve around Marvel's animated Spider-Man, Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), as he ventures out in the spider-verse for the third time after the success of the first two projects, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (released in 2018) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023).

Gwen Stacy is Steinfeld's second role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as she also portrays Kate Bishop alongside Hawkeye. Talking about her role as Gwen Stacy, the actress said, according to Deadline:

“We’re well into that thing. You’ve gotta trust the process.”

She added:

“If there’s one thing I’ve learned with that — it’s that. You put it in their hands and you’re gonna end up with something masterful. So just gotta go with it.”

Beyond the Spider-Verse is a direct sequel to Across the Spider-Verse, and will be directed by Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson from a screenplay written by Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and David Callaham. The film will be the last project in the Spider-Verse trilogy starring Shameik Moore.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is set to be released in the United States on June 4, 2027.

Hailee Steinfeld's Sinners opens on April 18

Steinfeld's latest film as an actress is Ryan Coogler's Sinners, a supernatural horror film that opens today (April 18, 2025) in the U.S.

Sinners, starring Michael B. Jordan, has received a high rating of 97% from early reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, at the time of publishing. The horror flick, that sees Jordan in a dual role and Steinfeld as a vampire, has been loosely inspired by Stephen King's Salem's Lot, Coogler has stated, according to IGN.

As for Steinfeld, many critics consider Sinners to be one of the most challenging roles in her career. According to People, while talking about how the role is different from her past work, the actress has said on Beau Society's newsletter:

"... This role is far removed from what I've done, but that's part of what drew me to it! I feel like I'm stepping into my own more and more as I get older, and this role mirrors that."

She added:

"The minute I heard Ryan Coogler, I was in. Then I read his script and was like, 'Holy s---, this feels like a massive undertaking.' The story is so complex and layered... I was so fortunate and honored to even be remotely considered."
