Paul Feig's recent film Another Simple Favor is slated to be released on 1st May 2025 on Prime Video. Starring Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick, Another Simple Favor is the sequel to its OG film, A Simple Favor (2018).

Another Simple Favor has been recently showcased at the SXSW Festival. In an interview with Screenrant, director Paul Feig mentioned the possibility of a third installment in the A Simple Favor film series. He states:

"Hopefully, [we’re] going to make a third one. I've got a nice thing in mind. I think this movie series could be three. What would you call that?"

In the interview, Screenrant suggests the term 'threequel' when Paul Feig asks what one would call the film franchise that has three movies. Feig seems to be quite certain about the possibility of A Simple Favor 3, as he says:

"Threequels. There you go. Yeah, it could be three movies in this story. So, yeah, I know where I’d like it to go."

There has been a gap of seven years between the releases of the first film, A Simple Favor, in 2018, and now Another Simple Favor is releasing this year in 2025.

Screenrant addressed the gap, asking about the tentative duration it could take for the director of A Simple Favor 3. In the interview, Paul Feig is hopeful that the lengthy wait time between the films might not be repeated this time.

He also highlighted the unpredictable nature of sequels, as he says:

"Hopefully not, but the thing with sequels is you don’t know. "

He also further added on with the dichotomy of common perspectives about sequel release time, as he mentions:

"..The timing of a sequel is a weird thing, too. Either you wait too long and people are like, “Why are you doing that?” or you do it too soon, and it seems like you just rushed it together, so who knows? We’ll see."

Whether or not we really need a sequel to Another Simple Favor can only be determined by the audience.
