Before his death, the voice actor-comedian reportedly had some health-related issues. George Lowe was in a nursing home for some time in 2023 and was also hospitalized due to declining health. His illness also forced him to stay away from social media, which sparked concerns among the fans.
Christopher “Mc Chris” Ward IV – a rapper, comedian, voice actor, and an admirer of George – checked on the Space Ghost actor. He revealed that Lowe had an aortic dissection earlier in 2023. A Facebook post from Ward read,
“He’s actually had some health problems, had a bad february [2023] after having an aortic dissection and he had to be intubated twice and we came close to losing him. he’s been in a nursing home and rehab and has had to return to the hospital as well to get his medication corrected. he now has a nurse looking after him in his home in florida.”
Per the Mayo Clinic, aortic dissection is a heart-related condition involving a tear in the aorta. MC Chris further revealed in his post that Lowe was improving as of July 2023.
