New revelations have emerged weeks after the deaths of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa, at their Santa Fe home. Recently, Fox News Digital obtained body cam footage of an interview with Arakawa’s hairstylist, who was identified as Christopher. The conversation revealed that a stranger had allegedly stalked the couple on two occasions.
Christopher recounted his chat with a “frazzled” Betsy when she narrated the alleged incident. The hairstylist claimed that the 65-year-old was visibly concerned when she shared about being followed by an unidentified individual on two separate instances. Both incidents are said to have happened when Arakawa was with her husband, Gene Hackman.
Betsy’s hairstylist told the law enforcement agent,
“One thing that the last… Maybe the… Not this last haircut, but… the color and cut in December, she mentioned to me that there was a man that had parked outside of their gate and followed them. On two separate occasions – I believe, is what she told me.”
He continued,
“One occasion is when they went to White Rock. They went and had lunch there and the guy followed them from… Parked outside of the gate. Followed them from the gate of the residence all the way to White Rock.”
On being asked further, Christopher said that his late client didn’t specify the gate of her resident community, where the stranger had seemingly parked his vehicle.
The stranger allegedly wanted Gene Hackman’s sign on pictures, Betsy Arakawa’s hairstylist revealed

In the bodycam footage obtained by Fox Digital, the late classical pianist’s hairdresser provided more details. He recalled the incident when an unknown individual allegedly stalked Arakawa and her husband. Christopher told the law enforcement officer,
“She [Betsy Arakawa] said, 'Christopher, I'm surprised that security didn't [know] how he got there… because when we left, I noticed that this car had followed us from the residence to White Rock.'”
The stylist further said that the alleged stalker approached the late couple. He further revealed that Betsy told him the stranger had a folder of her husband Gene Hackman’s pictures and wanted him to sign them. Christopher revealed that Betsy gave a stern reply to the stranger. He said,
“She said… she approached him and said, ‘I told him he needed to have more respect.”
According to Fox News, the same person followed the late couple on another occasion when they went to a separate location. The stranger reportedly offered the late Oscar winner a bottle of wine, but they didn’t accept his gift.
Betsy Arakawa and Gene Hawkman were found dead in February at their Santa Fe home. The authorities ruled out any foul play and later revealed a theory about their deaths.
According to the authorities, Arakawa passed away due to Hantavirus, and Hackman possibly died a week later due to heart disease and complications resulting from advanced Alzheimer's disease. One of their three dogs was also found dead at their Santa Fe residence.
