Robert Downey Jr. was one of the presenters for the 97th Academy Award and took a moment to celebrate Jeremy Strong's first Oscar nomination, with a heartfelt throwback moment. The Academy Award winner who took home the Best Supporting Actor last year for his role in the critically acclaimed movie, Oppenheimer, returned to the stage to present the same category this year.

During his presentation, the actor gave a personalized tribute to each nominee. When introducing Jeremy Strong, who was nominated for his role in the fictionalized version of Roy Marcus Cohn, a man widely considered a mentor to the young Donald Trump, shared a full circle moment from the past.

Back in 1993, when Downey received his first nomination for Chaplin, a young Jeremy Strong was outside the Oscar ceremony campaigning. He said:

"As we all know, Jeremy Strong is irrefutably the most serious actor on Earth. He's also like a brother to me. And I have watched him come from sleeping in the bleachers outside of the Oscars the night that I was nominated for Chaplin in 1993 into his blistering portrayal as Roy Cohn in The Apprentice, which was a masterclass. Masterclass!"

Later that evening, it was Kieran Culkin who won the award and gave a heartfelt shoutout to Strong.

"He's right by the way, Jeremy," said refferencing Downey's speech. "You're f**ing great in The Apprentice. I'm not supposed to single anyone out. It's favoritism. But you were great."

Robert Downey Jr crashes Jeremy Strong's red-carpet interview

Robert Downey Jr., who previously starred alongside Strong in the movie The Judge, crashed Strong's red carpet interview with Good Morning America. In his short appearance during the interview, the actor said:

"I have no time for this. I am here to help. I am a presenter tonight." before leaving in a hurry.

Earlier during the same interview, Jeremy Strong had a rather emotional moment when he was shown a picture of him from 1993. The anchor said:

"We just wanna surpirise you here. We have a picture of you attending as a fan in the stands at the Oscars. There is Jeremy Strong there [indicating the picture]. Now look at you, fast forward a few decades later, up for best Supporting Actor in The Apprentice. What a full circle moment"
"Thank you, that makes me emotional. Um it was 1993, Al Pacino won for Scent of a Woman." said the actor recalling the sweet moment.

Although the star did not win an Oscar tonight, his nomination is a beautiful reminder of his hard work and dedication to his craft.
