First official poster for Wicked: For Good revealed at CinemaCon

Wicked: For Good is a forthcoming film in the musical fantasy genre. Directed by Jon M. Chu, it will serve as a sequel to last year's Wicked and will adapt the second act of the namesake stage play by Stephen Schwartz.

Universal Pictures will release the film on November 21, 2025. Ahead of its release, its first official poster was revealed at the recently held CinemaCon. Here's the official synopsis:

"Follows Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West and her relationship with Glinda, the Good Witch of the North. The second of a two-part feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical."

The first official poster of Wicked: For Good revealed at the CinemaCon and it showcases the evolution of Elphaba and Glinda. Both of their personalities and rapport have gone through changes which might be showcased in the sequel.

In the poster, both of them are looking at each other; Glinda has her blue outfit which is synonymous with her. The tagline on the poster reads, "You will be changed." The poster hints at the relationship between Glinda and Elphaba. In the future, Elphaba will go on her own journey and face off with Glinda which is highlighted by the distance between these two in the first poster.

Wicked: For Good is written by Dana Fox and Winnie Holzman while Marc Platt and David Stone are the producers. The film will follow Glinda and Elphaba as they become Glinda the Good and Wicked Witch of the West respectively. The first film, Wicked, was released on November 22, 2024, and minted around $744 million at the box office. Its success led to the sequel.

In an interview with Variety, Jon Chu was asked what the earlier version of the script (before it was split into two) looked like. He said,

"As we picked apart every script, I would ask certain questions that opened a lot of discussion. It became inevitable that we had to commit to two movies."
