Universal Pictures has left glimpses from The Woman In The Yard as Blumhouse's much anticipated psychological horror film drops the first official trailer. Helmer Jaume Collet-Serra has cast Danielle Deadwyler, Okwui Okpokwasili, and Russell Hornsby in some of the lead roles for the 2025 horror thriller.
Blumhouse has previously produced major box-office hits like M3GAN. Five Nights At Freddy's, Speak No Evil, and Whiplash, so, this time we can expect something of a similar magnitude! The Woman In The Yard will hit the big screens in the United States on March 28, 2025, though it was previously set for January 10. ]
The official poster portrays a woman all wrapped in black, emerging in the front yard of a desolately located house.
The first official poster and trailer of The Woman In The Yard revealed
BAFTA and SAG nominated actress Danielle Deadwyler will lead the cast of The Woman In The Wild in the titular character Ramona, a woman who has recently lost her husband in a tragic car accident. She survives the crash and now has to take care of her children all by herself.
Amidst all the tumult, a mysterious woman (played by Okwui Okpokwasili) creeps up on Ramona's front yard and the latter must go at any length to protect her kids from the sinister presence. As seen in the official trailer, the woman in the black says "Today's the day" which definitely carries a pivotal element of the plot.
However, riddling questions like who she is and how she appeared out of the blue still remain unanswered. The blood on her hands and an overall creepy appearance further add to the element of horror, something we know Blumhouse is quite famous for!
