The makers of Scream 7 are expanding its cast of actors with new additions getting announced now and then. Now, it has been reported that Ethan Embry has joined the upcoming horror film by Kevin Williamson. This news was first reported by Deadline and comes days after the update regarding Matthew Lillard.

Embry is known for his role in films and shows like First Man, Can't Hardly Wait, That Thing You Do and Brotherhood among others. His addition to the team of Scream 7 might help in further increasing the anticipation around the film since some of the original actors from the franchise are also returning.

Ethan Embry to be a part of Scream 7

Deadline has reported that Ethan Embry has joined Scream 7, which is being helmed by Kevin Williamson. Several actors from the previous installments will also be returning to the franchise, including Courtney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Neve Campbell, Mason Gooding, Jasmin Savoy Brown, and Roger L. Jackson.

The film will also feature some newcomers like Anna Camp, Isabel May, Celeste O'Connor, Joel McHale, Asa Germann, and Mark Consuleos. Guy Busick has written the screenplay and he shares the credit for writing the story with James Vanderbilt.

Scream 7 went through some changes after the team of the sixth installment, including its actors Jenna Ortega and Melissa Barrera left the project.

The previous installment in the franchise, Scream VI, was released on March 10, 2023, and was directed by Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin. The film starred Melissa Barrera and Jasmin Savoy Brown among others. It was a critical and financial success.

Kevin Williamson wrote the first Scream which came out in 1996 and was directed by Wes Craven. Once principal photography of Scream 7 began, Williamson took to his social media to talk about his experience and also remembered Craven, who passed away in 2015.

Sharing a picture of the clapboard, Williamson wrote:

“I’m not supposed to post about Scream and I hope @spyglassmediagr and @paramountpics will forgive me but when you have one of the best days of your life it’s really hard to keep it to yourself. What an extraordinary day I had working with an amazing and talented cast and crew. They brought their ‘A’ game and had my back every step of the way.”

Craven directed four films in the Scream franchise between 1996 and 2011 before other directors began helming the project. With the involvement of Williamson and the return of several names from the first film, the film is expected to bring back the audiences who loved the initial films in this franchise. Scream, the first one, was a major success and is credited for its satire on the horror genre as well as helping it resurrect it in the mid-1990s.
