Hurry Up Tomorrow, the Weeknd's sixth studio album, dropped only a few days ago. Now, there's already another update about the eponymous thriller film based on this project.

Now, he has blessed his fans with a new update about his same-name movie.

As the Weekend fans would know, Hurry Up Tomorrow is also a feature film starring him alongside Jenna Ortega (Wednesday, Scream VI) and Barry Keoghan (Saltburn, The Batman). The latest update from Entertainment Weekly offers a sneak peek into the movie. EW has shared three photos neon-lit photos featuring its three stars.

Hurry Up Tomorrow is directed by Trey Edward Shults, who has previously worked with A24 studio on 2019's Waves, 2017's It Comes at Night, and 2015's Krisha. Its official synopsis reads:

"A musician plagued by insomnia [who] gets pulled into an odyssey with a stranger (played by Jenna Ortega) who begins to unravel the very core of his existence".

The Weeknd's Hurry Up Tomorrow: The first look into the R&B star's upcoming film

The Weeknd triumphantly arrived at the 2025 Grammys and set the stage on fire. Soon, he will appear on the big screen with his feature film debut. Titled Hurry Up Tomorrow, the psychological thriller film is based on his recently released studio album. The Weeknd, aka Abel Tesfaye, will star alongside the Wednesday star Jenna Ortega and Oscar-nominated Barry Keoghan in this Trey Edward Shults directorial.

Entertainment Weekly has just released an exclusive first look into the film that is eyeing a May 16 release. The pictures show Tesfaye, Ortega, and Keoghan in neo-lit nightscapes. One of these images shows Tesfaye screaming as Ortega's character holds him. This intense reaction ties in with Tesfaye's comments about his experience with this film. While speaking with EW, he called it "introspective and cathartic." He further added:

"From writing to production and through post — I realized just how much of a catalyst this art form can be for conversations about our emotions, mental health, and vulnerabilities."

The latest update reveals two more images from Hurry Up Tomorrow. One is a red-tinted picture showing Jenna Ortega's character looking out from a car. The latter shows Barry Keoghan's character in the middle of an emotional interaction with the Weekend's character.

Per the latest reports from DiscussingFilm, Hurry Up Tomorrow is set to be released in theaters on May 16, 2025.
