Jimmy Kimmel defended Taylor Swift after Donald Trump posted a monologue on Truth Social on February 10. Trump's post was in reference to the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles game at the Super Bowl XIV, where Taylor Swift, who endorsed Kamala Harris for president, was loudly booed.
In his post, Trump said,
"The only one who had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving."
Kimmel responded to the Truth to clarify the facts in his monologue on February 11 saying,
"Well, she didn't get booed out of the stadium. Unlike you, she stayed for the whole game, and it was the Eagles fans who were booing her."
After Kimmel and Trump's interaction went viral on social media, netizens took to X to react to the incident, saying,
"Jimmy Kimmel called it: Trump's just jealous of Taylor Swift's influence and success. She's out here making waves with her fans, not coup attempts," a user noted.
"Um she did get booed..but who cares.it's just a game.Ppl are just sick seeing her face everywhere," another user noted.
"TAYLOR IS MORE SUCCESSFUL. He only has one job, to stfu and he cant do it right," one netizen stated.
"she got booed at her boyfriends football game and he got shot at his own rally so where’s the drag," a user pointed out.
"Trump's just jealous of Taylor Swift" says Jimmy Kimmel
In another response post to Donald Trump's tweet about Taylor Swift, Jimmy Kimmel pointed out that the president is "jealous" of the singer,
"Trump's just jealous of Taylor Swift because she has more followers and more money and no kids than he does."
Jimmy Kimmel has been slamming Trump in public for years. During his show in January 2025, Kimmel got emotional over the Los Angeles fires and took aim at the President. He noted down his experience of evacuating the fire-affected area and said,
"Tonight I don't want to get into all the vile and irresponsible and stupid things our alleged future president and his gaggle of scumbags chose to say during our darkest and most terrifying hour."
Kimmel also said,
"The fact that they chose to attack our firefighters, who apparently aren't white enough to be out there risking their lives on our behalf, is—it's disgusting, but it's not surprising."
Kimmel also took aim at Kanye West's support for Trump and his controversial Grammy antics in his recent show.
